We have 14 yr old dog who has developed some health problems and would like to get a second opinion. We have a good vet in Olathe, but would like to find someone closer, in the Shawnee or Lenexa areas, for a second opinion, and to possibly make a switch if we feel its a good match. Any referrals to experienced vets?

Hi K., I have several friends who take their pets to Dr. Doug Broderius, at K-7 and Johnson Dr./55th Street. My vet recommended him as well when we moved out this way, so when our ancient cat is gone, we'll likely switch to Dr. Broderius, too. Good luck!

We always took our cats to Johnson County Animal Clinic, and that is where my husband's family took their dogs when we was growing up. Dr. Humphrey is who our animals saw.

We take our dog to Country Hill Animal Clinic and like both of the vets there. He has had 2 surgeries in the last 3 years so we know them well! They are located on 87th street in Lenexa near the library.
We really love Dr. Strickland at Oak Park Vet Clinic at 95th and Quivira. She is awesome! She has really good rapport with both animals and their owners! She's the only vet there which is really nice, in my opinion, b/c it's easy to get appointments and pick up meds, etc. I hope your little dog is well soon!
We used to take our dog to Dr. Luke Fry at Quivira Rd Animal Clinic at 78th and Quivira. He's extremely nice and knowledgeable. He really took care of us and our dog, especially as she got older. I highly recommend him.
We love all of the vets at Overland Park Vet Center. It's located in OP off of 87th by the Central Public Library.
