Very Cheap Date Night Ideas for Tonight?

My SIL offered to watch my kids at my house tonight so that hubby and I can go out for a while. AWESOME! Problem is, we are pretty broke until he gets paid on the 15th. We live in the dfw area. I was thinking about just going to the water gardens, but it'll be dark and the bums hang out there after dark. What should we go do? I'm stuck for ideas today, lol.

What can I do next?

Sometimes the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens has music and fireworks. Check their website. Walk around the Stockyards or Sundance Square. You don't have to DO something to have fun. It provides you time to just enjoy eachother and talk. My husband and I love to put on some country music and hit the country backroads with the windows down. We sing and talk and it makes us feel like teenagers again.

Grapevine Lake has a free fireworks show every friday night at dark of the summer. This is the last one this year. There is a park on the opposite side of the lake. Free if you are just going in to see the fireworks, but get there by 9. I forget what it's called, but I could figure it out if you want. You could take a blanket and a pack a picnic, maybe a bottle of wine. They have covered picnic pavillions in case it rains - which would be even more hot and steamy and romantic if you ask me! FREE DATE!!! woohoo

heres another I will copy and paste - free concert in the park
Enjoy a fun evening with your family and friends with First Friday on
the Green, a FREE monthly live music series rolled out by Fort Worth
South. Bring your blankets and chairs (and even Fido if you want), and
enjoy an evening of live music from great bands in a relaxing setting.
Hungry? Enjoy one of the neighborhood’s fantastic restaurants beforehand
or take in Chadra Mezza & Grill which will be selling their tasty fare at the
event. No outside coolers or food please.

i was going to say walk around a park...you could just go out for dessert or coffee & spend some leisurely time talking...the weather here is better today so it's not too hot to spend some time outdoors, you could even pack a picnic, if there is a nice park nearby a lot of them have lights (we go to a park in my mom's neighborhood, it has a pond & a walking trail around it) so maybe check out some of the neighborhood parks?
