What are you doing to celebrate w/your hubby or SO?
Out to dinner?
If staying in, what will you make?
I don't think I will be giving hubby any gifts but maybe I could do something nice for him?
Thanks everyone

What can I do next?

Why are some people so down on Valentines Day? It is my favorite holiday. Of course we all know that we love each other all year round and do things for each other all year to show we care. But Valentine cards are so beautiful and thoughtful and all the little trinkets you can buy are so cute too. Just another day to show my beloved grandson(9yo) how much I love him to pieces, and the hope that our relationship will remain this close as he grows older.

Hubby has to work that day his usual 12 hour shift, so were staying in.
I've decided to surprise him and make some Rib Eye steaks that we rarely get to treat ourselves to, along with roasted red potatoes, asparagus, salad, and garlic cheesy bread and some wine all finished with a cheesecake to share for desert.

Going to light some candles, and soft music and have a relaxing time.

It's about celebrating family love for us. I haven't decided what we will do, but it will be fun. Maybe go see Beauty and the Beast in a nice theater and then out to a good family dinner. Something like that at least :).

We don't do the hubby and wifey thing that day because we do that year round. We aren't perfect, but I certainly don't rely on Feb 14th to tell me we need to love each other :).

Well gee, my Husband's Sister In Law and his Niece from abroad, will be house guests at that time and will be here almost the whole month of, February.
I ain't counting on anything, per Valentine's.
Hubby isn't good at remembering that day anyway. He is not a "Mr." Martha Stewart.

If anything, since I will be the Tour Guide and "Host" for his family during their visit, I figure, that is enough for me to be doing, for Hubby, for the entire year.
Snarky answer. But oh well.

I hate going any where on valentine's. It is always overcrowded and overpriced. The last time we went our it was to a restaurant we frequent. Usually spend $50. But on Vday they had a special dinner for $100/couple. Ok were here whatever. Then they had taken out all of their big tables and replaced them with 2 seaters. So a place where there normally was a table for 10 had 5 tables for 2. So you basically sat with another couple (you did not know) practically sitting in your lap. Nice way to celebrate a romantic night? I don't think so. Now we put the kids to bed a little early (after the valentine's fairy stops by of course) and either get take out or cook a special dinner. Sometimes there are (nice) gifts and sometimes not.
