take a cruise. Disney cruises are nice, but almost all cruises have child care and activities. They are great.
What are some good vacation destinations for familys with kids? I have a 2 year old, 7 and 8 year old. I'd love someplace warm that offers childcare or supervised kids activities for times when me and hubby want to be alone. At this point, i'm open to any and all ideas.

I know that the disney cruis line has supervised child care and kids activities while your abourd that way you get away from the kids while there having fun too. check into that because any cruise is cheap around the holidays.
Well, there aren't any supervised activities but there is a waterpark in Boise that we just visited this last summer with our 3 and it was the highlight of the 10 day trip! It's called Roaring Springs and it was a blast. We were doing a roadtrip to visit family in Utah and stopped for a couple nights in Boise. The waterpark really has something for everyone and we all had a lot of fun (my boys were 5, 8 and 13 at the time). There are some other fun center type of places practically next door, too. We made a stop at the World Center for Birds of Prey while in Boise, too. In the summer, it's very warm there but, at least at the water park, we didn't even notice (I think it was 106 at one point during the day there).
As a family we just took a vacation and it was the best vacation we have ever taken. The kids had a blast doing their own thing and we had a great time as well. We took a cruise to the mexican riviera. It can be costly but it is so worth it. Our kids are 13,9 and now 2. The cruise we went on did not have activiies for children under 3 so our youngest was with us all of the time but some cruises offer activities for 2 and up. You can check the kids into activities that the have a great time with and then go do your own activities or you can take them with you Kids are allowed to go to the shows and can go into the lounges with you if you choose the lounges are NOT like a bar atmosphere! I have heard the Disney cruise is great for all ages! The rooms are small so we opted for 2 rooms right across the hall from each other. We put the 2 oldest in one room and the three of us in another.

Hi! Jamaica is a great place to visit and childcare is included from 6 weeks on up. They have a child center and they have wonderful teachers. They are open until 6pm or so at night, and after hours babysitters are very cheap, about $6 an hour. They have different programs/activities for kids there up to 16 years old and it is beautiful there. We went to Beaches Ochos Rios two years ago and had a wonderful time. There are also other resorts in Jamaica such as FDR Pebbles and Trelawny that have childcare included. One of those a personal nanny for your kids is included in the cost. Good luck!
Check out BEACHES all-inclusive resorts. We took a multi-family vacation at the one in Jamaica last Easter and it was fabulous! Something for everyone ranging from 8 months old to 16 years old! Childcare is from 3 months - 12 years and is FREE. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I was amazed at the geniune love and affection they showered on my son. Very clean and nicely decorated child care centers - with air conditioning. You are welcome to Pop-in and check on your kids at any time. All the staff caters to the kids - even in the restaurants! All food, bevereages, alcohol and most activities are included. All in all, we spent less than when we went to Disneyworld and added up all the individual expenses. There is 1 adults only restaurant when you want to get away! The price will seem scary at first, but when you factor in that it covers EVERYTHING...it doesn't seem so bad afterall. Just watch out for the extra "off-property" activites that look so invitiing...that's where the costs add up.
I've unfortunately never been on a family vacation but I wanted you to know that I have heard a lot of good things about places like Club Med, Sandals, etc. They are resorts with lots of family and couple activities and they have all kinds of childcare options. Good luck!
It's a little expensive, but we went to Disneyland and stayed at the hotel that connects to the adventure park... They had childcare, and the downtown disney district is right out the back door. They have music, bars, entertainment, all kinds of stuff. My kids liked it at the babysitter better than disneyland!!
Hi L.,
This is certainly a ways away, but I wanted to share with everyone the great trip we had in Arizona last month. We went on the Polar Express in Williams Arizona. We rode the train until we saw Santa, they served hot beverages, read story books and sang Christmas Carols until we returned back in Williams. The train depot is in the same parking lot as the hotel and they serve buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was a blast for my 1 y/o baby, and my 2 y/o niece, and 11 y/o nephew. The downside is...you have to make reservations now to get on it for next Christmas. I believer there are a few of them. Here is the info for the one we went on www.thetrain.com.
All in-clusive places typically have great childcare options, and tons of fun activities for the kids and yourself!
I am very fond of Mexico and various locations there.
San Diego also has some great places, and there is the San Diego Zoo, and Sea World. Pretty close to DisneyLand as well.
I believe Alantis (Jamaica) has many romantic and kidie options.
Cabo San Lucas at Casa del Mar, just north of cabo by 10-15 min, which also has the Hacienda Del Mar (large resort with golf course) had many children activies.. that I can remember, and a private beach!
Good Luck
Email me if you want more suggestions... I travel a lot!
