Can anyone help me with a vacation packlist so I dont forget anything. This is my first trip with my son on an airplane and am terrified. Any pointers will help. I know about Benadryl, Bottle, pacifiers and Portable DVD players.

What can I do next?

We flew from NY to Vegas with our 13 month old. We didn't do the car seat, but made sure to have all 3 seats. She slept between us. Bring LOTS of diapers and extra wipes for sure. I also brought stickers to keep her fingers busy, and plenty of snacks. We had some of her favorite books and some new books, as well as a DVD player. Of course, any meds. your baby needs, and I always have bacitracin and cortisone cream in our bag!

I used an equipment rental company for all the needs when we arrived. The company I found (in Vegas) included a bag of books, a box of toys, crib, high chair, monitors, all bedding, and a car seat. We only needed to bring her stroller and any other necessities. Might be something you want to look into...

Above all, stay calm and enjoy your trip. Kids are soooo adaptable!

When I went on vacation I packed entirely too much. But as always the basic Tylenol/Motrin also. Definately snacks for the plane, extra outfits, socks, shoes. Depending on where you are going sunscreen. Weather appropriate stuff. And don't worry most things you end up forgetting to pack you can always buy when you get there. Have a nice vacation!!!

Don't forget something to play with. If it is a long ride they do get bored fast. Snacks and favorite toy. I took my daughter to Arizona to see my family and I thought I had enough stuff to keep her busy but she still got bored. I learnt pretty fast.

Our son is 3 in a week, and we go to Germany 1 - 2 times a year. First, let me tell you to ignore Benadryl unless you've tried it before. I broke down in desperation and tried it once - and my son was more hyper than usual. It sometimes has the opposite effect. This doesn't even address the fact that it isn't right to try and dope up your kids (of course it's easy to fall in that trap when you are dead tired!).

Milk is important, as some flights don't seem to provide milk, and kids really need something nourishing for an experience like this. I'm not sure if the little milk sippy boxes are still okay to bring, since our last trip was right before the most recent regulation changes, but it's worth checking out. Also, it is good to have some little books and small toys that they haven't seen yet, that way when you give it to them on the plane, it's new and exciting.

Of course your standard diaper bag stuff is a must, with extra wipes for messes, and comfy clothes so they don't get too uncomfortable and cranky. Make sure you remember his lovey if he has one. Forgetting a favorite blankie or animal is like sentencing yourself to extreme torture.

Most importantly, stay calm, and remember that you'll most likely not see any of the people on the plane again, so if they get aggitated about your son laughing or screaming to loud, that's their problem. It's one thing to be respectful to others, but it's another to make yourself sick over your son being expecially cranky and disruptive. Just my two cents.

Hope you have a great trip!!

VIDEO NOW JR.. HAS ALL THERE FAVORITES. Yes binkie is big for ear popping but at 17months may not be the best thing. (not good for teeth).. syppie cup. toys that can attach to carseat? are you bringin a car seat or are you lapping it?? car seat my be better for both. a towl or something to chang him on..diapers/change of clothes. cheerios/ snacks..
Advise against milk.. could turn stomach sour on plane. and let the baby get out all energy and try and plane the nap for the trip. good luck.
