Using Disney Gift Cards at WDW

We use the gift cards at Walt Disney World every time we go, in fact what I do is purchase a gift card and I add money to it every time we get paid. We have used them to pay our bill at the hotel, pay for meals at restaurants on property (including just the tip when we have been on a meal plan), pins at the pin carts, the Downtown Disney Store, the carts in the parks and the gift shops. I have never had a problem using them and I am refilling our cards for a Dec. trip right now.

We purchased a limited amount of gift cards ahead of time. We used them only for suveniers. I think I remember something about them being good most anywhere. However, I don't think that the resorts took them. We happened to stay at Animal Kingdom.

We used gift cards at different shops at the parks with no problems! I can only imagine you could also charge things to your hotel account and pay it off with the gift cards. I would check with the hotel if you can pay room charges with gift cards. Then you could charge to the room ANYWHERE and pay with the gift cards. Hope this helps a little!!

I was at WDW in 2008. We had no problem using them at the gift shops and at counter service restaurants. I know you can use them to purchase tickets.

Per terms and conditions of Disney gift Card: "At the Walt Disney World® Resort, the Disney Gift Card can be redeemed at select merchandise, food, ticketing and Guest Service locations, select third party lessees and Downtown Disney® District Operating Participant locations.
The Disney Gift Card can be redeemed towards payment of a Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel room night or reservation. Use the Disney Gift Card for reservations or aboard Disney Cruise Line®. The Disney Gift Card is not accepted, at McDonalds®, Jellyrolls, Rainforest Café®, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience."
