So What Happened?

Picked up my new Dyson at my local Best Buy for 319.00. Oh my gosh, I love this thing! It's light, sucks up great and handles so easy. All around it's very user friendly and gets her done!
Thanks for your help!

My answer has, and always will be, go to a vacuum store and compare several brands against each other. I loved my Eureka almost 10 years and just bought a Riccar (made in the USA!) and it's super sucky especially when compared to a Dyson.

I second going to a vacuum store. I did when I bought mine a few years ago, and they were very helpful. He talked about the beater brush being metal vs. plastic or wood in addition to tons of other stuff. I ended up with a Sanitaire. Not the most expensive one there by far, but it's been great.

hands down Dyson! Would never own another vacuum. Good deals to be had at Bed Bath & Beyond with their 20% off coupon.

I wouldn't trade my Dyson for anything. Worth every penny and good on carpeting AND bare floors (tile, wood).

Love my Oreck! It does a better job than any other vacuum I've ever owned and I've had most of them including the most expensive brands.

Shark Navigator!

It's great on bare floors as well as carpet . I'll never have to use the broom and dust pan ever again , and it's super easy to switch between hard floor cleaning and carpet. I had been looking at the Dyson, but a $500 vacuum cleaner was just not in the budget. I also used the brush attachment to dust my bedroom furniture. So instead of dust just being moved around, it was sucked right up! The extra extension is perfect for dusting baseboards and those hard to reach areas in the bathroom where hair always seems to sit.
