Upper Tooth Root Canal

I feel like such a big baby right now:( I think I may need a root canal on one of my upper teeth. I will find out today:( I have had one root canal done on a bottom molar and that went pretty smoothly. I could tolerate the sensitivity and pain; however the pain on my upper is so sensitive and very painful. I've never experienced anything like this before. If you have had root canals on both your uppers and bottom teeth, is having a root canal on the upper teeth more painful than the bottom? As you can tell, I'm scared!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, I did it. I had both nitros and novacane, complete high! It wasn't so bad. Thanks for the support!

I had an upper and a lower and both were fast and pain free. With the lower (my first), I thought that I was going for a consult and wasn't expecting it to actually be done that day. That was a good thing because it didn't give me time to freak out and there was nothing to worry about. I had the same doc do the upper one (he actually pointed out the dead tooth, I didn't know it was dead) and it was also just fine.

You'll be fine...good luck!

Just go and get it done. It might be a bit if there is an infection in the root that might be causing the pain. Other than that, it is easy and you will be glad you had it done.

Toothaches are not fun.

I just had an upper done last week. Totally pain free. The worst part was my mouth and lips being numb for 8 hours afterward. ha ha. Good luck!

I had both done. No problem at all. Pain free! I did keep asking for the numbing shot though because I didn't want to feel anything. And I didn't. it was great.
