I drop low and carry low my whole second and third trimesters. My first 2 babies were over a week late. My doctors actually inducing me tomorrow because she doesn't want me to run late again.
I am almost 100% positive that my baby has dropped – I am 27, going on 28 weeks of pregnancy.
A little background – this is my second baby. My first was born @ 32 weeks (water broke/emergency c-section due to breach). I remember this same feeling a week or two before he was born. I feel him lower and feel very low pinching pain (like the baby is pinching a nerve) and I have to pee every two seconds.
Needless to say, I am a sack of nerves and was just wondering if any mamas had their babies drop this early and went on to have full term pregnancies?
I do have a Dr. appointment tomorrow (with ultrasound) – was just wondering what the experience of other moms had been… also, anything in particular I should be asking my doctor to check for?
Thanks in advance!
I went to dr and it turns out my cervix is measuring 1 cm when normal for now is 3-4 cm. She sent me to the high risk Dr right away for a second opinion and they admitted me to the hospital yesterday. I will be on hospital bed rest until at least 32 weeks. Our life has been turned upside down but I am so thankful this was caught when it was. They have me on steroid and magnesium now... please pray I can keep this baby in as long as possible. With my history of my first being born @ 32 weeks they are not too hopeful I will make it, but at least the little one is getting all these meds to help him develop as much as possible......

My last one dropped this early too, but it was because baby apparently needed room to jab a foot into my gallbladder and cause me severe pain. I carried all the way up to my due date with no problems other than my pain. Everyone was healthy all the way throughout the entire 40 weeks.
My last one carried low for the bulk of the pregnancy...and the doctor didn't think I would go to term, but I did. He was a planned c-section and I did not go into labor on my own.
Good to know you're seeing the doctor tomorrow though :).
My first dropped at 26 weeks--when they lifted my bedrest and started checking at the 34/35 week mark he was at a +2--that's right he was just about to fall out. I so thought he would come out so quickly-- boy was I wrong, but that's a whole different story :)
My second dropped at 28 weeks, I explained to the OB my first dropped really early too, she said it could happen, but wanted to confirm everything was okay with an ultrasound just to make sure. Yup he just dropped early, although I heard with additional pregnancy it usually doesn't happen until labor.
My 3rd, I feel I'm carrying him higher so I don't think he's dropped yet, and we're 30 weeks today. Good luck I'm sure its perfectly fine, but based off your history, I'd see if there is anything your OB can do to reassure you :)
wishing you all the best
All 5 of mine dropped about 3-4 weeks before I had them.
I think your early for them to drop. But I would be sure to talk to your Dr about it, they will be able to tell if they dropped or not.
