I just wanted to update you all on what has happened since the day I wrote that post. I got quite a few very helpfull suggestions (and a few unhelpful ones, but we won't go into that). That very day, I discussed the problem with my husband and explained very clearly that I needed more help around the house and that I wanted him to sit down WITH ME to talk about all of the tasks that needed to be done, how many times, and then assign them to a family member. He was totally on board and that night we made our list and made a calendar of who does what and when. Things have been going so beautifully. Everyone, even my 11 year old, has been very good about checking the calendar everyday and making sure they do what they are supposed to do. And, I have been able to get completely caught up on my work and have remained caught up all week so far. I feel like the biggest weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I wanted to thank you all for your support and suggestions.

I guess I need to ask a question, too, so....What is the best suggestion you have received on Mamapedia?

What can I do next?

The one thing that I always try to keep in mind that I read here is not to expect my hubby to read my mind. If I have something on my mind I need to verbalize it and if I don't then it's no one's fault by my own if things don't go as I expected/intended.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together. I'm very glad to hear this.
Now to answer your question... "don't go on a motorcycle trip on mother's day you idiot" :)

Yay good for you! I'm amazed you were able to do it without spending any $$$ to hire someone to come over and help you! You really got your husband and 11 year old on your team then :)

Most helpful tidbitss I've taken from Mamapedia: Thomas trains and tracks are the same as target trains and tracks just way more expensive. Mr. Clean Magic eraser is a good buy. And It can take up to 2-3 weeks for your kid to poop out whatever he/she swallowed.

Gr8 to hear a positive outcome and update! Woohoo!

As for the best suggestion via Mamapedia, I just feel in general that the support I receive is sincere. It helps to have a sounding board to know that I am not alone.

I was encouraged via here to speak up more at home and also got a bunch of tidbits regarding naptime (my latest saga) and mealtime (the joys of eating with a toddler!) and teeth brushing--mimicking using toys was a great success!

But mostly, I have a place to turn to.

I can only hope that I have been as helpful as well :-)

it was either from the first question i asked about a very faint positive line on a pregnancy test... and now when i see people ask the same question its always the first advice i give.. go spend the extra$ n buy a digital test (until you can go to a doctor) .. or it was when i asked about pains i wasfeeling early on in my pregnancy, almost everyone said it sounded ling round ligament pain.. when went to the doctor she said the exact same thing

I learned from here not to be so quick to judge, be more calm and wait to hear the whole story or know the person before I snap judge. I also learned like just in life, also on line you cant trust everything everyone says. PLUS that there are lot of grammar police out there .... oi

glad things are going great!

how did you get your husband on board? mine got really grouchy when I suggested a schedule. He doesn't want to pitch in for anything except taking out the trash. he also feels like a slave if he has to cross off things from a list, whatever just excuses so he doesn't have to do a damn thing.
If I tell him to pick up after himself , he then asks my 10 yo daughter to do it BUT I step every time and let him have it. my daughter helps with a lot of other chores he can pick up his own damn clothes.

YAHOO!!!! I'm sooo happy for you!!!

I'd have to go back - I think I've received the best advice from several people on here - S.H., Momof4, Jo W, Rachel D, Mom2KCK, MusicMakingMama - there are too many to name!!

TracyKxo - gave me an AWESOME recipe and tips on what to cook - as several others have!! I have a "go-to" recipe that Mom2KCK gave me that my family asks for once a week!! These things I would like to believe spurred the Mamapedia Cookbook that Rachel D put together for us!
