Underactive Bladder

My daughter (5 years old) goes to the bathroom only once or twice a day. She drinks plenty but even when she first wakes up she dosn't have to go. She isn't in pain so I am not sure if we need a doctor visit yet. Would anyone know of why this would be?

What can I do next?

My 5 y.o. only goes 3 times a day. Never when he gets up it is usually about 30 min after, then watch out because he is running to the bathroom.
:) It seems like it just hits him. Then he goes before nap time then usually after dinner and then we force him to try before he goes to bed. I leave a water bottle in the fride for him to get a drink when ever he needs it. In the summer time I may refill the bottle 2-3 times a day and his bathroom habits never seem to change.

My daughter is like this, she's 9 now. It amazes me, because I'm 50, and I have to pee all the time!! I do encourage her to drink water, especially in the summer. She can wait for an hour or two after she wakes up, then goes once or twice more during the day, then I have to insist that she go before bedtime.

My 4y is the same way. She can go close to 12h between bathroom visits.

My feeling is that even though she drinks a lot, she may be slightly dehydrated. When your dehydrated, or your body uses all of what you put into it, you go less. Try increasing the fluids by a glass or two.
