UCLA Westwood has midwives that work with OBs and they are fully supportive of drug free births. I worked with one of the midwives during my birthing classes and she was wonderful. Good luck.
I'm a childbirth educator and doula who who has a client looking to give birth at UCLA. She is hoping to find an OB who is supportive of a drug free birth - referrals are appreciated!
thanks,

I went to the nurse midwife clinic at UCLA. There are about 6 midwives and they are all great. I delivered at Westwood without meds.
Look up the UCLA Midwives (at the Westwood UCLA). They work with an OB practice and are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My doctor is Pam Boyer, she's actually a high risk ob. But she is very open minded to giving the woman a choice of how she wants to deal with labor... of course as long as it's not going to cause harm to her or the baby. I had a very difficult 30 hours delivery with my daughter (with another doctor previously) who weighed 10 pounds! he pushed me into having vag delivery with a huge baby... I had to get so much epidural that I was almost unconscious... during the delivery, my whole body became extremely swollen, and had no milk supply no matter how hard I tried (i later on found out it was because of too much epudural. it took me 3 weeks to recover. This pregnancy I'm seeing Dr. Boyer and during the consul I spoke to her about the labor part.. adn she said it was completely up to me, women should have a choice. I could schedule a csection, do vag/epi, do nautral.... whatever I wanted as long as the baby and I are safe.
