First question, my baby that is 16 months old has 3 teeth on top, 2 on bottom and a jaw tooth in the back on the top. Isn't she too young to be getting jaw teeth? Is this going to affect her teeth when she gets older?
Next, my 7 years old has not lost any teeth yet, all of her friends are loosing teeth and hers are not even loose. Is this good or bad? I have heard from some that it is good, but then on the other hand I have heard that it may affect her adult teeth. Thanks for any input on these questions.

What can I do next?

My daughter is 17 months old and has all 4 of her first molars, all 4 central incisors, and is just recently getting at least 3 of her 4 lateral incisors. There is a chart for tooth eruption & shedding at http://oralhealth.uchc.edu/Eruption%20Chart.pdf. The chart shows that the first molars can come in between 13-19 months, so this is normal! It also says that the first teeth are shed (central incisors) between 6 and 7 years. I'm sure your daughter will lose her first tooth in a year or so. The chart says the upper lateral incisors should come in around 9-13 months. But I just noticed last night that my 17 month old's just broke through! They will come when they are ready, and I'm sure they will fall out when they are ready! :)

Does your 7 year old see a dentist regularly? You could ask at her next visit, or just call the dentist's office and ask if there is a point when baby teeth need to come out before causing damage.

Unlike other milestones, teeth come in and fall out at different times for different kids. My 6 year old has already lost 8 teeth -- when she lost her 1st at 5 I thought it was too early. The dentist said not to worry. If you are still concerned, take her to a pediatric dentist.

As far as the looseing teeth i'm not really sure about that. I dont see why it would be a bad thing her teetch will fall out when they are ready. But i also have a 16 month old and she has 4 back teeth on her jaw i dont think they are to young to have the back teeth. She got back teeth at like 14 months I dont think you have anything to worry about. Hope that helped a little :)

I don't know what dentists now say about teeth falling out, but I can tell you that MY teeth were late at coming out. I actually had to have one last one pulled when I was in high school, so that my braces could be put on. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth. I never even had a cavity until after I gave birth to my daughter, so I personally don't think it's anything to worry about; but, to ease your mind, I'd call the dentist's office and voice your concerns.
