Two Months Postpartum Spotting- Normal?

It's been 9 weeks since my last birth and I'm still spotting. I stopped bleeding for a couple weeks at 6 weeks postpartum then it started again very lightly. Is this normal? It doesn't have a menstrual consistency or thickness. I don't have a gyn to see (yet).

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

I stopped bleeding after 6 weeks, stopped spotting at 10 and my OBGYN said it could take up to three months for my cycle to straighten itself out. Hang in there, it will be over soon! :)

With my first one I spotted for over 16 weeks...seemed excessive, but my doctor said it would just take time for my cycle to even out. It did eventually, hang in there. But...I would visit or call my GYN just to make sure. If you need a GYN mine is great, Keith Reissler in Plano.
Good luck, A.

Sounds normal to me. I bled lightly through week 7 or 8, then had spotting or a mini period at 12 and 15 weeks.... then nothing at all for months! It took me until 9 months postpartum (1 month post-breastfeeding) to start a normal cycle.

Sometimes you can over do it when you start moving around more which can cause it. I would notify your physician just so they can note it, and give yourself some rest. If you start frequent pad usage call the docter definitely.
