My friend is a Chiropractor and he said that acupuncture in your feet will bring on the labor. I was 1 month early with my baby so I never tried it. Good Luck!!!!
Can anyone share some natural tips to induce labor? I am overdue with twins, and really don't want to have my doctor induce if I don't have to. I have tried walking, spicy food, the whole nine yards....and so far nothing. My last baby was born right on time. I am beside myself here. Any ideas?

Bless your heart. Well, here's the recipe I used to bring my daughter "down the pike". I walked for hours, contractions stopped. Then I started the recipe that my Bradley instructor told me about below.
This is herbal medicine, I am reporting my experience only, not advising you. You have to decide what you think about doing it.
1 tsp black cohosh herb in 1 quart of hot water. Steep for 6 hours. (If you don't start labor during that time, continue with step 2!)
Sip 1 tsp of the tea every half hour, (it tastes like stewed tree), monitor contractions, when they start hold off on the tea unless they stop.
If you aren't getting enough "action" add step 3 into the mix:
1/4 cup cod liver oil, 1/4 cup orange juice. Some add a shot of vodka, but I didn't. This tastes horrible too.
This will certainly send you to the toilet, so make sure you are in range. I didn't and was sorry!
I had my first child c section and did not want to do that again, I was so tired for 6 weeks from the anesthesia. Birthing babies, esp twins isn't a game, so you have to decide what you are willing to do or not do with or without medical support, which you won't get for this recipe. I'm suppose that the black cohosh tea, which i found in a serious health food store, has the same chemical properties of pitocin, which is what's used to induce labor in much heavier doses.
It is pretty unusual that twins go so long...I'm thinking that the due date was miscalculated.
My first child was born at 24 weeks gestation, survived his early birth, had several severe disabilities and died when he was 6 years old...Keep cooking them as long as you can. You only get one chance to build a spinal cord and brain.
With love,
E.
I was 9 days overdue and I got some acupuncture and went into labor the next day(this was last week). I went to the Nest, which is at 4650 N. Rockwell. She specializes in fertility and pregnancy. Her number is ###-###-####.
Wow that's great that your twins are able to cook all the way to term!! Unfortunately, I don't have many tips for inducing labor except for to keep scheduling things to do, and know that one day you'll have to cancel something because you'll be in labor (my girl was 9 days late). We tried sex (a lot of it, sorry TMI), accupuncture, walking, etc. I was so sure the sex thing would work (I read a good journal article that showed it to be effective, but what works "in general" won't necessarily work for YOU). Have you gotten your doc to strip your membranes yet? That can help if you're close to going into labor anyway....
Remember, a due date is not a deadline - it's an average. Some babies are early, some are later. As long as your babies look healthy, sit tight and stop worrying about it - nobody stays pregnant forever, not even you :) And, I can guarantee you - you're closer to meeting your girls today than you were yesterday :)
Mine is silly, but I heard about this a long time ago, but Eggplant Parmigiana.

Here's the website, with the article with the recipe. GOOD LUCK!
My suggestion is very silly, definitely not scientific...Go dancing! I know the last thing you want to do is be up and about, but all that shaking and rattling worked for me!
Hi L.,
CASTOR OIL SHOULD DO THE TRICK!
Take care,
Hilarie
Straight from my Bradley classes: nipple stimulation, thumb sucking (teacher suggested both at once), sex... Also, I've heard that certain muscles on your feet and hands (hence the thumb sucking) can initiate labor, so a manicure and pedicure could do it, too... And even if it doesen't, sounds like you could use some relaxation before the girls show up anyhow! Good luck!!!
I would let labor start naturally. Pineapple and Mangos, moreso pineapple, there is a natural enzyme in pineapple that helps to induce labor. Evening Primrose Oil should be taken starting at 37wks and there is a regimen. Acupressure near your ankles will stimulate the uterus as well as nipple stimulation. A study published about 4-6m ago said that sex will not stimulate labor, but some claims it works too.
When you are walking, you have to really sway your hips back and forth and it has to be natural walking, not treadmill walking. Use your arms to help the momentum. Also try cleaning your floors in a squatting position. Good luck, they come when they are ready!
Have sex! Being overdue with twins, I'm sure its the last thing on your mind but it worked for me!
Best of luck to you!!!

Ask your doctor to strip your membranes. They can do it when they check to see how you are progressing. What is it you ask? Here's your answer: The doctor takes two fingers and actually starts to separate the baby from your uterus. If it is going to work, it usually does so within 24 hours. I have to warn you that it is a bit uncomfortable but compared to what you are going through now...it's worth it. It worked for me. My son was born 18 hours after I had it done.
