Oh boy do I understand. I recently got the bully pouch and my baby is 4-years-old. I was actually convinced I was pregnant again. My Doctor said I should do crunches every day to strengthen my tummy muscles. Hope that helps
Hello moms! I had a beautiful daughter on 3/11/07 and I haven't been the same since. Its so amazing being a mom, life has changed in so many ways. I know life isn't all about me anymore & the sound of a baby's laugh can get you out of any funk you are in. I love my daughter so much (I didn't know I could love someone that much) but somethings have changed & not all for the better. I was in good shape prior to pregnancy. I would walk (pretty intensely) on the treadmill 5 days a week. I am 5' 2" & about 113 lbs. I'm not teeny petite so I looked thin enough for my body shape. I was pretty happy w/my body ,then pregnancy changed all of it. As I said I am only 5' 2" & way more leg than torso. My acrobatic baby stretched the hell out of my belly and now I am left with a kangoroo looking pouch. I look about 4 mnths pregno. I am back to my prepregnancy weight but have this bulge. I guess my question is can any of you recommend a tummy slimming belt to combat this. It is from the middle of my belly down to the pelvic area. I know that my muscles are separated & know they will not be repaired w/o surgery which isn't in my budget. I want a easy fix so I can wear fitted shirts again. Prior to pregnancy my stomach was flat & was my husband's favorite feature. Please help me.

ok like your muscels are not going to be the same as before. I was 285 pds in high school than slim down to 130 so my waist line in high school was bigger than when I was 40 weeks pregnant so my angel didny really stretch me any but I have been working on getting rid of that little pouch as you call it (it is stretched out skin that apears after sudden weight loss...like with giving birth) surgery is the only way to get rid out this completely but there are exercises that help it enough that you can wear tight shirts and no one would know about it. There is this common misconception that if you do alot of ab exercises you will get a flat tummy. what really happens is you are damaging the muscels. you should do a small amount of ab exercises (butterfly crunches are best) with areobics that work mutiply muscels like running or yoga. With slimming belts I have always found that they just push the skin elsewhere so you dont look thinner just proportioned different.
Well I just answered another question similar to this so I will tell you what I told her. For me with each baby (I have 2) I had to weight less than my pre-pregnancy weight in order to get a flat tummy again. I also do an ab video everyday to keep my muscles nice and toned. So for me I'm 5'3 with my first my pre-pregnancy weight was 117 after her I didn't feel good until I got down to 113. Then with my second baby I started out at 113 and didn't have a flat tummy until I got down to 107. Now I'm pregnant again and weight 110 right now so we will see if I have to get lower than 107 after this next baby.....hopefully not cause I don't know if that's possible LOL. But you can also get a slenderizer you can wear under you cloths. There are some really good ones out there that will flatten your tummy right out and make you look smooth.
I have the same pouch!! I am trying the crunches & flutter kicks, etc. route. Haven't been doing it long enough to notice results yet tho. Just trying to do whatever abs exercises I can do!
I hope it does work, I hate the pouch!! lol
My friends who are in the same situation swear by Spanx. They have different styles to fit your needs and run about $36-$40. I know Target and JCPenney have knock-offs, but I think I'm going to go with the Spanx. When my friends tell me they are wearing them, I can see the lines through their clothes and they wear some form fitting outfits.
for the first year after having my child I wore a shape slimmer underneith any shirt I wore.... They were awesome and made everything look so smooth, I still wear one sometimes and have run a triathlon (so i'm in great shape.. I just love them!) I buy them at target and they are very reasonable (around 20usd) they come in tan or black and all you do is tuck it into your jeans.. no riding up or anything! it really does make a difference.
I'm also a somewhat petite person (5'3 and I was 120lbs pre-pregs) and I had two pregnancies basically back to back but my body has never recovered. No matter what I do, I have a pouch-like blob on belly and I look like I'm 3-4 months pregnant. Spanx are great. There are a lot of different shapes and levels of coverage. I bought and wore the Higher Power thing to a wedding when my youngest was about 6 months old and it really helped to slim my silhouette. I still wear it when I'm going out with my husband. http://www.spanx.com/home/index.jsp
I was curious to see what answers you got - I am also at my pre-preg weight, but also have that blob in the middle! My body bounced back after my daughter, but my son stretched my skin out! The muscles are strecthed out, but so is the skin on top!
My mom keeps telling me I should do ab exercises, but the baby is one year old already, wasn't sure they would work!
Sorry I can't help with any advice, but at least you know you aren't the only one in this boat!
Good Luck!
E.
