Any communtiy center in the area offers all kinds of classes. My daughte takes ballett and tap for beginners at iNdian zRiver Community center. I pay 35 every six weeks and the slass is once a week-MUCH cheaper than dance studios!
I am looking for a class to entertain my 3 year old daughter. She loves to dance and do flips and cartwheels. I want to sign her up for something not so expensive. If you have any suggestions please share. I live in va beach so i would prefer in va beach area but please if you have something in norfolk i will definitely look into that as well.

My three year old isn in gymnastics at Excalibur. She loves it. It is not too expensive. Around $50 a month for one class a week. She gets to jump on the trampolines, work on summersalts... and balance beams... and just play with other kids her age.
Someone else already mentioned it, but JW Tumbles has different classes as well as open gym. It's at the corner of Kempsville and Prov Roads in the shopping center next to Kroger.
JW Tumbles. They are at the intersection of Providence and Kempsville Rd in VA Beach. Next to Kroger.
Have you looked at the classes that the Rec Center offers?
http://www.vbgov.com/vgn.aspx?dept_list=dfee54cf18ad9010V... - they have ballet and tap and also Gymnastic classes.
My daughter has taken ballet and tap lessons from Miss J. check out her website http://dance-makers.com/default.aspx - she is wonderful with children and her prices are not too bad (I think they are about $40 / month). Then there is also Ocean Tumblers and Gymstrada.
I hope this helps.
I've heard River Oak Church in Chesapeake is offering 30min Tap and 30min. Ballet class on Wed. for about $30 per month. I have my kids taking Karate even the girls and they love it. We go to Karate for Christ they have a location in VB and they are very resonably priced. You can check them out at KarateforChrist.net
