Travel Question #2 - Songs

Yes, we need some tunes for the 9-hour trip. I already have a few mixed CDs made up, but we've played these to death. I know on the ride back we will pop in some Christmas tunes, but NO WAY before Thanksgiving.

So, any good song suggestions that I can download off of iTunes? We can do kid tunes, rock, pop, country, show tunes, even classical! I'm already thinking of putting "Anthing You Can Do I Can Do Better" from the old Annie Get Your Gun soundtrack. He likes songs that are novelties and catchy and that one certainly fits both categories! :D

What can I do next?

The "For the Kids" cd is my all time FAVE to play for my boys. It is comprised of various artists from Cake to Sarah McLachlan singing classic songs. My personal favorite from the album is The Hoppity Song by Five for Fighting. I am also a big Grateful Dead fan, so I also love "Not for Kids Only" by David Grisman and Jerry Garcia. It is an eclectic mix of old songs. J. Jenkin's is my favorite song from that album. We also listen to oldies, so the soundtrack to "The Big Chill" is also great.
Have a fun trip and be safe!

I love the Camelot, Newsies and even the first Twilight soundtrack to drive to. We'll listen to Dixie Chicks, Coldplay, Aerosmith, Beastie Boys, Maroon 5, The Killers, old N'Sync, Ace of Base... a good mix of everything. I like my old 90's music too.

And I also love anything by The Gregory Brothers. Their cd ep is awesome:

I don't know how old your son is but my daughter is 4 and loves the Little People songs for kids. I'm not sure of the exact name of the album but it has Fisher Price Little People on the cover and they are all classic kids songs sung by kids and adults. I bought her her own CD player about a year and half ago b/c we just could not listen to them anymore! I'm not sure if they are on iTunes, but probably they are. If not you could always buy the actual CD and just put in your iPod. I think it was like $12 for 3 CDs. I just bought the Christmas one and can't wait to listen to it!

I recently bought the new muppets album. It's muppets songs that are sung by contemporary singers (not the muppets) so it's fun for kids but cool for parents. It's called Muppets Green Album.
