My oldest recently lost a tooth. We did the whole tooth fairy thing. My question is does anybody have a neat idea for me to store his baby teeth ? or what do you really do with them?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I did keep the first two bottom teeth. They came out within a week of each other. I'm going to save them in a book for him. Thanks everyone for the response.

I have my kids write their name, the date and something about the tooth (1st tooth, 1st molar, lost on an apple, etc) on an envelope and then put it under their pillow. It's much easier to find at night, it's labeled so I know whose tooth it is, and I have a handwriting sample to keep.

If you really want to save them..I believe you can soak them in bleach or peroxide. I think peroxide. I know we saved my teeth because I called them my twin teeth my bottom two teeth were like conjoined twins or something. They were basically fused together like one tooth and came out as one tooth but really it should have been two seperate teeth. I think it's weird to look at and we saved that one. I also saved my wisdom teeth and really I have absolutely no idea why but it's very interesting to my 5 year old who hasn't lost any teeth yet.

If you wanted to keep it, my daughter was given this as a birthday present off amazon.com It really is a beautiful set. If you don't like this one, they have others, just put in the words - tooth curl in the search box.

I only kept my daughters first one. The rest hit the garbage after the tooth fairy visits. If your son has a "baby book" or a memory book that you have made, you can go to Archivers or Michaels or even Wal Mart for that matter and get some clear envelopes made specially for scrapbooking. I put my daughters in there with a big picture of her smiling with a gap in her mouth! It is an adorable page, and if you are into that, it is also very easy.

My Grandma kept all of my Dad's teeth and taped them in his baby book. My Mom almost died when she saw them and took them out and threw them away. I really don't think they have as much sentimental value to the kids as they do to you. I can't think of a reason why I would've wanted my Mom to keep mine for me. Maybe keep the first one and clean it good and seal it in a baggie or something if you really want to keep one. I know it's hard to throw them away but I figure that with 4 kids I'll get good at throwing things away because I can't keep everything :o)

I keep them in a film canister in my dresser. Once the tooth fairy comes, there's really no reason for the kid to see them. Photos are the best way to remember your beloved punkin and their first lost tooth.

Because they can rott and stuff, I just throw them away. My daughter has a tooth fairy pillow that she puts by her bed. It has a little pocket on it for the tooth which makes things 100 times easier. She asked what the tooth fairy did with the teeth and my hubby told her that she makes stars out of them. So now she tries to find the new stars that are her teeth.
