Hey mamas!

I have been sucked into buying the huge professional photo packages yet again!! Even after giving multiple pics to family and friends, I have so many left over! What can I do with all of them?? I have several different sizes and poses. Any advice would be appreciated.

S.

What can I do next?

One thing I did is to make a set of photo's - the professional photos, school photos, and any extra snapshots I happened to have around and give them to my mom. That way if something horrible happened and my house was destroyed, I had another set of pics available. I know it doesn't take care of all the extras, but it does with some.

take some of them and put them away in a safe place before you do anything else. keep a box for each child and you can add school pictures through the years and then someday you wont have to sort through ALL the photos you have to find some from each year. your children will enjoy seeing them all in one place when they are older too :) as far as the rest you could use them for crafts either now or later. when your kids are older you can start using their current pictures to help them identify things that are theirs like clothing drawers and things like that. Good luck !

I made a wall clock from my extra photos. You can buy just the clock section that has the hands on it and then put photos on the wall where the numbers would be on the clock.

There are always a lot of smaller shots. I give them to my kids and they put them into the valentines and cards they give to their friends. that won't work if you have family shots lol but it works for all those little bitty shots they include in school packages. another thought is to let the kids make christmas ornaments fr next year to use and name tags on gifts they give. good luck with using them up.

I would use them to make photo ornaments for small x-mas presents for extended family.

You could make several different scrapbooks or photo albums with you extras. I usually buy the big packages too. I need to do something also and just got this idea, which may help. You could make one phote album and tape the edges just for your children. Also, make other scrapbooks and hold on to them until your children are old enough to appreciate the books. Another idea is make photo albums and hold on to them untill, your parents or friends milestone birthdays or anniverseries, for example parents 25 wedding anniversery, 60th birthdays, etc... Good luck, getting started!

Give some to your parents and they can pass them out to family members that you may not think of or keep regular communication with. That's how I dispersed mine! Grandparents love bragging rights!

put them in your children's scrapbooks. It would be nice to have pictures of siblings in their books.

Make a photo book for your kids. I wish my parents would have gotten duplicates of photos from when I was little because now that I am having kids, I want to compare photos of my husband and I when we were little, but our families are very reluctant to part with the photos they love and have had all these years, so start a couple of scrap books to give your kids with photos that you don't mind giving up when they have kids themselves.

Also, duplicate photos and "bad" photos, I put in those cheap photo books that you get for like $0.99 at the drug store and my 2 year old loves looking at the pictures and because they are extras or out of focus or not ones I especially love, I don't care or freak when they get bent as he turns the page, but my son looks and sees his family and feels like a big boy!

I have a friend that carries some of them in her purse. Then if she is somewhere doing a craft (her or the kids) she will add them to it.
