Over the years I have consumed TUBS & TUBS of Happy Meals Toys still in plastic!!! I am over it already. Is anyone aware of a toy collector or an idea of how to sell them? I live in the Lee County area. I know, E-bay, internet type sites, but I am not at all computer savvy. :(. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a Golden Arch Day :)

Actually, I do not accumulate too many, after a while I say respectfully "no thanks, keep the toys"; and the others, I just put them in a box with other donations (toys and clothing)...Who knows,,, what is not useful for my kids, it may put a smile on someone's face....

I send my collection of unopened ones to my daughters school. The librarian uses them as prizes for their AR goals. I also know their kindergarten teacher collects them as well and uses them as prizes. So if your kids are still in elementary I would send them there if not I'd find an elementary school to donate them to.

Do you have elementary school aged kids? My son's school is always looking for that type of toy to give away as prizes. They get one or two prizes a month for reading a certain amount of books. They also earn certificates for good behavior and have a monthly drawing for those. His school can always use toys like that as giveaways.

I would donate them to a Children's Hospital or shelter where they may be appreciated. I never bought the Happy Meals for my kids because it was cheaper to buy the food separately and my kids didn't need the toys. I can't imagine anyone is actually collecting them and willing to pay for them, but I suppose you could try Ebay if you have the time.

Donate them to a local charity that runs a second-hand shop. They can get some benefit from selling them for a tiny amount. Unless you have desirable full sets or series of toys, I can't see your getting enough out of them to make it worthwhile to post on E-bay etc.

We give the toys my kids don't want still in the wrappers to the schools. The teachers use them in the goody boxes to give to kids when they are really well behaved - even high schools!

Honestly, these things aren't collected anymore. Even the Beenie Babies that were so popular at one point. I'd donate them somewhere.

J.,

You got on here, right? You made an account right? It's that easy on e-bay as well.

If you have complete sets - you MIGHT have some money, as there are collectors everywhere. So what I would do is spend a weekend going through the tubs, separating them all out - if you have a complete set - take a picture of it and list it on ebay. Start the bidding at .99 cents. Make sure you have it IN A BOX and weighed BEFORE you list it so that you know how much it weighs and select the "postage by location".

If you don't want to do that? Donate them to Goodwill. Take the tax write-off.

Most of them have zero market value. I just throw them away.

Another organization to call is your fire department. I know that our firefighters here are always looking for donated stuffed animals in very good condition, because often they need to give a bit of comfort to young children in an unhappy situation. You could call your department and ask if they could use the happy meal toys for the same reason. Couldn't hurt to ask.

Ebay has changed a lot over the years so it's not worth selling there unless you have something rare. Let's face it since there are millions of Happy meals toys for every single campaign they aren't rare.

I donate them. Maybe contact the children's librarian or the fire or police department to see if they wanted them to hand out.
