My two year old toddler is taking off his PJ bottoms and diaper in the morning. We're starting to introduce poddy training, but what do I do in the meantime? I try going into his room as soon as I hear him...but he's too fast or stelth. I tried putting on a onsie, but he pulled the diaper out from his leg hole and it made a bigger mess. I tried duck taping the diaper tabs, but he pulled the diaper loose from the tape and we almost had a major problem on our hands with the tape. I have him in zip up pj's tonight, so I'll see what comes of it. A friend recommended an overnight diaper, so I'll try that tomorrow as well. I know if the zip up pj's don't work, I can turn them around and cut out the feet. Does anyone know of pj's they sell for this issue?? Help!

What can I do next?

My son used to do this too. What a mess! I put him in one piece sleeper pjs with the feet. I then put a "superman belt" of duct tape around the outside of his jammies. He couldn't get to his diaper from the top or the bottom. It accomplished what I needed and he thought he was cool.

i just put the pjs on backwards. you dont have to cut the feet off, just buy a bigger size and you can twist the legs of the pjs around so the feet face forward. he will grow into them anyway. my son wears them like that every night for the last 2 years, works perfectly.

I always just turned at pajamas around so they couldn't take the pajamas off. After awhile they get the idea.

I thought no one had invented such a product yet (and was trying to find the motivation to do it myself) when I stumbled across the following website:

Darn it.

Have you tried talking to him about it? Don't laugh. Kids can handle more than we give them credit for. Ih he was 12 months I might say no way. But two is old enough to lay down the law. Say "You can take off your PJs, but KEEP THAT DIAPER ON!!" You could give him extra jammies - my daughter loves changing clothes before I go into get her I also hear d once tha tyou can put on zip up nammies BACKWARDS so he can't pull down the zipper. Maybe jus tuse a slightly larger size so he si comfy.

My just turned two has been doing this for a while. Zip up only pjs and everything on backwards!!! Yes you feel ridiculous but not so much after cleaning poop out of the crib first thing in the morning!

Been there. They are trying to help but cause a mess. One night about an hour after our daughter fell asleep I looked in the monitor and thought what is on the back of her shorts so I went upstairs to investigate. Well, she had gone #2, thank goodness it was a solid one, and took the shorts off, then the diaper, and then put the shorts back on inside out! It was the tag in the monitor. I couldn't help but laugh and be thankful there was no mess. I was able to get her cleaned up and back in bed without waking her up. I had to watch her like a hawk for a few weeks before she was finally through that phase. =)

A friend of mine had the same problem and she put the diapers on backwards so the tabs were in the back..or since you're potty training why not switch to pull ups? May be harder to get off and help in the process of using underwear.
