We are moving to the Austin area from Peru, South America and I would like to keep my 18 month old's Spanish going. Does anyone know a good class for toddlers in Spanish? Thanks!

What can I do next?

There are lots of great storytimes that are in Spanish as well.
Do you speak Spanish? Buy books in Spanish and speak to him in Spanish if you can. We have a bilingual household, and i only speak Spanish to my son, even though English is my native language.

Hi L.,
I live in Austin and my son goes to "The Children's Center of Austin" on Bee Caves on is 2. He has 4 teachers in his class, 2 of which speak spanish and english, and 1 only speaks spanish. My son is half hispanic and we want him to learn how to speak spanish, so I tell them they can speak to him in spanish. But I have not heard oh any daycare only speaking spanish. But if you would like the number to my daycare e-mail me and I can give it to you. My son loves his teacher and school, and they have all the best ratings and staff. It is truly a wonderful school. They are quite expensive, runs about $975 for a 18-24, and $925 for 2-3yrs. But you really get your money worth.

My daughter attends Austin International School, which offers a trilingual immersion program (French, Spanish, English). I highly recommend it -- but your daughter will not be old enough to attend until next year. However, the lead Spanish teacher at that school left late last year to focus on her own Spanish immersion daycare. I have no personal experience with the daycare itself, but knowing Ms. Adriana and her teaching techniques I feel comfortable recommending the center -- at least for consideration: http://www.spanishimmersiondaycare.org/index.html. It looks like they offer flexible schedules, so even if you are not shopping around for full-time care you would have the option of part-time or Mothers Day Out.
