This may be cliche, but I do suggest crocs. They are easy to put on and take off and easy to walk in. My daughter loves them. The problem right now at 25 months is to get her to wear anything else. :-)
I am having such a hard time finding shoes to fit my daughters feet. She is 20 months, and her foot is little and chubby. The problem is that it is not so much wide as it is thick from top to bottom....so it gets squished ! Robeez were great when she was little, but I would like to find something with a hard sole. I have tried the Robeez tredz and they also dont work well. I know that Stride Rite has a lot of options, and I have gotten her some there before. My only issue is paying $50 to $60 bucks for a shoe she will only fit into for a few months. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Thank you all for your advice.....I will try toe Crocs and Nordstrom Rack for sure. We went ahead and got a pair of sneakers from Stride Rite. As long as she is comfortable its worth the money....they are a good qaulity shoe.
Thanks again!!

Hi J.:
Have you tried Crocs? They offer a bit more room. They even have nicely lined ones for the Texas winter months. AND they only run about $20-$25, maybe less for smaller sized feet.
My 3 year old son loves his.
I had the same problem with my son's feet until we found wee squeaks and pedipeds. They are wonderful and so cute!
Both my girls had chubby "high" feet (not wide either). We found shoes at Payless that worked well and were very affordable.
Hi J.,
I have the same issue with my little girl. We buy stride rite as you already mentioned. We also love Pedipeds that can be found in boutiques or online. They are around $30-32. Good luck!

My son is almost 2 and wears an extra wide. His feet are thick from top to bottom, too. The only store that I have found that shoes will fit him comfortably is Stride Rite. The shoes are a little pricey, but he needs to be comfortable in his shoes. Most of the time we have to special order them because they don't have them in store. If you sign up to be notified when they have sales, you'll pay much less. Since you have a girl, it should be so much easier for you to find her shoes since the selection will be greater. Also, look for sandals with Velcro closure across the top of the foot. My son can wear the sandals from the Children's Place with the Velcro. good luck!
Hello
Have you tried going to Dillard they have a few selection for children with wide feet and the price is reasonably. I hope this helps.
I would try the Stride Rite outlet in Allen.
We had the same problem with all 3 of my boys. We used crocs (the cheap ones from wal-mart) and tennis shoes with velcro. That way you can control how tight they are across the foot. We just didn't velcro them all the way over.
I second the online suggestion of Shoebuy.com. I've had to buy xw for six years now. Once you buy something from shoebuy they will send you additional discount codes also.
I also bought and sold the xw on ebay. Usually the shoes are in near perfect condition when they grow out of them so you can recover some of your expense.
Good Luck!!
Go to Nordstrom Rack. I buy almost all my kids shoes there. They carry all the expensive Italian shoes. Italian shoes are wider. Don't be discouraged if they don't have what you want...keep going back and they'll have all new stock.
I had the same problem with my son. I had to go to Stride Rite and get them. I know they can be expensive, but my friend told me there is a outlet in the Grapevine Mills mall. I have not been there, but you might try it.
I would try Kohls. They carry a brand called Munckin that is made by Stride Rite but much cheaper. They also have some Nike sandals that are really stretchy. I believe Toys R Us also has them. There is a Stride Rite Outlet at Grapevine Mills as well.
Try Pediped. That's the only thing my son can wear. His foot is also top chubby, not wide. They now make not only the crib shoe but the Flex (older kid rubber solde). They've been a god send.
I've also seen Stride Rites in Marshalls so you might check there along with TJ Maxx and Ross.
Both my daughters feet were chubby. Stride Rite worked the best for us - look for sales. Usually, they have a buy one get the second 1/2 off. Good luck.
I've bought Stride Rite online at www.kidsurplus.com and www.shoebuy.com for less than $20. The sizes I bought were toddler 7,8,9 in normal width. I have seen wide widths on these sites.
My boys have wide and x-wide feet, so I feel your pain. First off, I 2nd the Crocs idea. They work great for my boys and are so easy!!
Also, check out the Stride Rite outlet in Allen. It's at the Outlet mall at Hwy 75 & Stacey Rd (NW corner). The shoes are first quality and are much cheaper (usually around $20). I would get your child measured at the regular store and then go to the outlet. I've found that the outlet employees aren't as well trained for some reason.
Oh yeah, also check out the Nordstrom Rack (we go to the one at Park/Preston in Plano). I got shoes there for my boys when they were younger. For some reason they always seem to have plenty of wides on their racks and you can get some great deals!
Good luck!!
I have always had a hard time with shoes for my kiddos since they have extra wide feet when they are younger. I don't see the point in spending that much on stride rite shoes when they grow out of them so quickly. If you are close to a stride rite outlet, you may want to try that. I buy 2-3 pairs from there everytime I go..the next couple of sizes and they are usually about $20 a pair.
Another option is t watch on this site:
www.mamabargains.com
They change what is selling daily and often times, they sell shoes for little ones at a discounted rate! I have also purchased from them countless times. You have to check back tough. One day might be blankets and when all of that is sold, then it might be strollers, or clothing, or shoes.
Anyhow, good luck!
I go to the Stride Rite outlet at Grapevine Mills. I can usually find exactly what I want for about $20. The most I pay is about $30.
I go to the Stride Rite outlet at Grapevine Mills. Last years styles for much better prices!
Ditto on Payless! They have some pretty cute shoes at times ...they are inexpensive and they come in wide width.
try ebay for stride rite shoes...used or new
Payless! I LOVE Payless. My son has WIDE feet and we can order wide shoes at their website online and then we pick them up in the store. Sometimes I'll order a bunch so I can try them on (me or him, he gets the wide width from me) and then I just return what I don't want right there in the store. It's been a life saver. And sometimes they'll have a few wide width shoes in the store. He has cute great shoes and they're a great price. For example, here are some totally cute little girl shoes.

J., My daughter has bought shoes at the Stride Rite outlet for my granddaughter. The price is better. My son had feet that were thick and box like. Unfortunately his foot was so wide that we had to buy expensive shoes. Eventually, he was able to fit into less expensive shoes. If you do have to buy Stride Rite make sure they fit her properly so she gets the maximum amount of wear too. Good Luck!
Try See Kai Run. I love those.
J.,
Have you tried Stride Rite?
My sone had VERY wide and square feet when he was an infant and toddler. I was always able to find him shoes there. They have an outlet store in the Allen outlets and they will measure her feet there.

J., Have you tried Pedipeds, they're very cute and you you can buy soft or hard sole, they have a website just google pediped. Another neat thing is on selected shoes they donte to make a wish. Just a thought.
J.
to get wider shoes buy CARTERS brand. they're like $20 but they work. khols has them.
I liked Pediped - they especially have cute girl options. There website is pediped.com. They are not quite as expensive as Stride Rite. Good luck!
