Seems like an appropriate amount of sleep for a O. year old. Follow her lead and when she is tired, let her nap. You're lucky you have a good sleeper!
My one year old seems tired often. She sleeps close to 12 hours at night and takes two 2 hour naps during the day. At her one year appointment we found out her hemoglobin is 10.7. I am wondering if we should start giving her an iron supplement and/or vitamins. I try and make sure she is eating meat and green veggies. We have transition her to whole milk. Any thoughts or suggestoins?
I did place a call to her Dr. and the Dr. is not concerned with her hemoglobin level and did not recommend to do anything different. I just notice she yawns a lot through out the day and will also see that while playing she will be laying on the floor a lot.

I think that's a question best answered by your pediatrician as we don't know her medical history, her size, etc.
If she's sleeping a lot, she could be getting ready to go through a growth spurt, there could be endocrine (hormone) abnormalities, etc.
As much as I'd like to advise you, I think the biggest thing I can advise is to call your pediatrician's office and ask their recommendation.
Good luck!
too me that doesn't seem like an excessive amount for a one year old. that's no more than my daughter slept at that age. she is 26 months old and sleeps 8:30-6:30/7:00 (so 10-11 hrs/night) and takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.
if you're really concerned as her ped about giving her a supplement.
My 19 month old has low iron and I give him a liquid vitamin supplement once a day and just mix it in with either yogurt or on of his drinks ( I usually put it in a pediasure strawberry drink to cover up the taste of the drops). I got it at target (i think enfamil makes it). It helps some with the tiredness but I would ask your pedi before giving her anything as he may want to run some more tests beforehand.
Stay in touch with your doctor every 3 months or if you see changes or other "symptoms" that concern you. They are very busy and you are your daughter's advocate.
Should you decide to supplement her diet, be sure to go with something that is based on good science, not just something that is colorful and cheap.
Here is what I recommend: http://K..myshaklee.com/us/en/category.php?main_cat=Nutri...
No artificial colors, sweeteners, or preservatives. Can be ordered online.
All the best to you and your little one!

You can give her appropriate childrens vitamins that contain iron however it could or could not make any difference. It could be that she is just a naturally long sleeper or is going thru a growth spurt that causes her to sleep more. I would keep an eye on her and if she continues and doesn't make the appropriate things at her age, such as trying to crawl, explore interaction with you or her toys I would definately have her checked out. It could be absolutely nothing or something you should be away of. I would see your pysician again if you are feeling anxious about it just to be reassured that everything is fine.
Don't ever supplement iron unless your doctor tells you to do so. Too much iron can be toxic. Before you introduce any supplements (beyond a multi-vitamin maybe) talk to your doctor.
i would bring her back to the dr.for a full work up-just doesnt sound right for a 1 yr old...
Maybe she is sleeping too much therefore she is more tired? Just a thought and I noticed no one said that. I notice when I sleep too much, I feel more tired. Not sure that would be the same in a one year old, but just thought I'd reply!
That sleep pattern was completely normal for my daughter when she was that age. From birth, she slept alot. However, during the day(especially once she started walking), she was go,go,go all day. She is now 3 1/2 and sleeps between 10-12 hrs a night with a 1-2hr nap during the day. If I were you, my concern would be if she seems to be tired, lethargic, etc. during the time she is awake.
Have you tried iron fortified cereal with her? Maybe that may help....
