Hello Moms,

I have a 32 month Girl , I started on Potty training this Sunday..just two days!. Things are progressing and she is getting hang of it. On the first day I let her go without Diaper in night and she woke up twice in a puddle of her own. I woke her up once but that time she did not wanted to go.

My question si how did you got started with Night time potty training, what worked for you and how many times do you have to wake them up and how long before they start going on their own.

Thank You

It won't happen until your child is between 4 and 5. Physically they just aren't ready. Keep using pullups at night and once she is dry 4 or 5 nights in a row then you can try panties. There really isn't a way to night train until then.

Hi V.!

Good luck with the potty training! I wouldn't worry about the night time training - that just comes naturally. My son is 3 and has been potty trained for about 3 months now, but not night time trained. My pediatrician told me to let him do it on his own. Once he wakes up with a dry diaper then he's ready! But he definately said waking them up serves no purpose and is not good for them (or you). Good luck with whatever you decide and hope it works out!

Do not worry about going potty during the night. Put on disposable panites on her only at night. Only potty trainer her during the day. You don't want your daughter to get into the habit of waking up at night. You want her to sleep all night. My kids have always slept during the night with hardly evergoing to the bathroom. We restricted their drink in take after supper and trained them to go to the bathroom as soon as they got up in the morning. If your daughter happens to wake up during the night on her own and you hear her automatically take her into the bathroom to try and potty, otherwise do not worry about it. Night time will take care of its self. Pay attention to if she is wet in the morning or not. Also put a plastic cover under she sheet to protect her mattress at night. By the age of 3 1/2 my dauhgter and age 4 my son were wearing regular underware to bed.

It took, now 5 yr old, daughter to stay dry through the night consistently to her 5th birthday. She was trained during the day at 18 mos. But at night we just put her in a pull up. If she did not wet we reused the pull up (Who has the kind of money not to) and if she went about a month w/o accidents then we would let her wear underwear. We finnaly connected her accident times after that to a growth spurt and the fact that her dad and I both had trouble until I was 5 and he was a little older. It will come with time. Worry more about the day time and pooping first. Godd Luck!!

We simply put a night-time pull-up at night only until she was dry most of the time. Sometimes children are not ready to be night trained until almost 4. Good luck!

I've got three kids and we're done with the potty training phase of life (thank goodness!) I never woke any of mine up to go to the bathroom. We trained all of them during the day and just kept them in a diaper at night. Once they went a week or so with a dry diaper in the morning, we'd let them sleep in underwear. We also limit their drinks after dinner to help them get through the night without the need to go to the bathroom.
