Tightening Engagement Rings

I saw that the center stone was loose on my engagement ring. So I took it to the jeweler yesterday and they said that the rings should be tightened every year. I have had my ring for 10 years with only one other incident but that was because of something I did.

Does anyone do this? I was surprised.

What can I do next?

Tightened? No, but I do have the prongs checked every year and they have been tightened once in five years. Bottom line, having it checked is usually free where you purchased it and if the prongs have widened with wear, you won't lose your stone!

Don't know about the every year but was told if you hold ring to your ear and tap with finger shouldn't hear anything. If so go get checked asap

No- when I was pregnant, I had to have my rings enlarged because my hands swelled up! In the summer, my rings are always tighter and a little looser in winter. I've had them adjusted before, but have never been told to do it every year.
