Thinking of Doing in Home Childcare -- Need Advice

I am needing to go back to work, but with a 2 y/o and one due in Nov., I am dreading going back to work and putting my kids in daycare (not to mention the cost of daycare for 2 kids!). I have over 7 years childcare experience (both in daycare and as a nanny), so I thought of possibly starting an in home childcare.

I would love any and all advice from moms who run their own childcare, and also moms who take their kids to an in home childcare. I want to know things that I'll need to provide, or need to have to get started. I do have two big concerns, though. First, we will be moving into a rental house soon. I'm not even sure if I could run an in home childcare from a rental home vs. owning our own home. Second, I don't know how to find families, especially since we're moving to a new area.

Thanks so much for any and all advice!!!!

What can I do next?

The State is a good place to start. Also, I belong to an association, the website is www.pickofnothtexas.com, which is based out of Plano. Look at the website and it will tell you the different types of childcare. Any questions please me at ###-###-#### and I will be glad to help you out. Good Luck!

I have been a home childcare provider for over 10 years, and I love what I do. When I started I lived in a rent house. The owners were friends of ours and I checked with them to be sure it was okay, they were fine with it. Some people have childcare and live in apts., so I know some people are okay with it.
The first thing you need to do is become registered with the state. http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/About_Child_Care_L...
I live in Arlington and I am a member of a Home Child Care Provider Support Group www.choosehomechildcare.com Through our support group we receive training, referrals, and we meet others that do what we do and we give each other moral support and friendship. I don't see how people survive long without this kind of support and help.
A website is helpful, once you get going. Mine is www.storytimecottage.com
My first website was from freewebs, a place to start with a free website. That website is still up if you would like to check it out www.freewebs.com/teresamerriman
After awhile I wanted my own domain, so I went with yahoo and set up the one I have now.
You must treat it like a business, but the children never really know that. If you visit www.choosehomechildcare.com then look at the list of providers and check out some of the websites to see what different people do. Some watch only infants, some do preschool programs and some (like me) do a mix of ages.
If I can help you with any other questions, just let me know. I'll be happy to answer your questions. T.

The first thing you should know is that the internet is full of scams, only 1 out of 10000 sites are legit and paying when it comes to online jobs. If you want to register to any work at home job, i will suggest you to google it first with the word scam at the end of the search to see testimonials and comments.

You might want to know where to start with online jobs. The first thing i will tell you will be PTC or paid to click sites. They pay you, moms who are just at home sitting on the front of your computer to click ADs or online advertisements... so How do you start
