Thinking About Getting Bumbo Sitter or Bebe Pod

My daughter is able to hold her head up and seems to enjoy sitting up relatively unsupported (she's 3 months old). I'm just wondering if it would be worth buying one of those little seats that seem to be so great, I'd like to hear what you other moms have to say about them or other ideas for the stage she's in. Thanks!

I am a home daycare provider and just bought a Bumbo and LOVE it. I am using it for a 4 mo that I take care of and she really enjoys being able to sit up and look around. I think it is great. It wipes off easily if she spits up on it, too.

We have a Bumbo, and we LOVE it! My daughter is 4 months old, and she has been using her Bumbo chair since she was about 2 1/2 months old. She loves to sit up right like everyone else in the room, and the Bumbo allows her to do that!

We got the Bumbo for our daughter when she was almost 4 months. She hated it. She would arch her back and almost pop herself right out of the seat. It may have been better if she was a little younger, but she didn't like it at all. She is a VERY strong baby, so maybe that also helped her to push herself out of the seat. I wouldn't really recommend a baby seat.

We got my daughter the bebe pod when she was between 3 and 4 mos. old. We didn't get much use out of it. She could sit in it fine at that age, but would get very upset when she dropped her toys and they were out of her reach. By the time she was 4.5 months old, she would arch her back and dig her deals into the seat to try to get out of it, and I'm convinced that she could have flipped herself out of the seat if we didn't stop her. At a little over 5 months, she was sitting up well on her own and didn't need the seat any more. We had better luck just sitting her in the middle of a boppy cushion when she was still a little bit unsteady sitting.

We were so excited to get the bumbo seat UNTIL our chiropractor found out we had it. He says it is soooo hard on hips and backs. There is a reason that three month old children can't sit on their own. Anyway, I love the product but did return it and used our exersauser instead (with him sitting in with feet off the ground until he could stand on his own).
Just what I was told, have a great day.

Hi Hilary!
We had a Bumbo and my son LOVED it. He's sit in it forever if I let him. It was great because it gave him a new view of the world (besides on his back, on the floor). I'd stick him in it and put a gym in front of him and he was so happy. I highly recommend it. I also used it when he first started eating foods. A++++++++

My two DD used the Jumperoo. My youngest is 5 months and has been using it for the past month or so. She likes sitting upright and it has toys to entertain her and she's able to bounce and enjoys it a lot. Both kids did. It's an exersaucer, johnny jump up, and a seat all in one in my opinion. Highly recommend!

I bought it & loved it. Haven't used it in a while because I thought he wouldn't fit in it but not according to your other responses :) I took it everywhere & it was soooo easy to feed him in it, keep him right near you without always having to hold him. Loved it! I always recommend it when people are going to baby showers.

We didn't like ours. We put our son in it and he was frustrated because his legs were sticking straight out and kind of stuck in the leg spots ,and he couldn't reach any of his toys when sitting in it, and he would get really angry and cry when he was in it. I don't blame him since it just didn't look comfortable. We resold ours for $30 on Craigslist, check there, they go fast on there but you can usually find one. Or post a wanted ad.

My daughter was the exact same way. She hated her swing, but loved to sit up. I bought her a Bumbo Sitter and she loved it. She also used her little bouncy seat and loved that too.

they are wonderful. it helps me alot because i know shes going to stay there and learn something at the same time. plus now she is on solids so if she is with grandma i can just feed her in there. a lot nicer than hauling the high chair around.

she has used it on and off for the past month and a half and now she is sitting on her own. she just leans forward when she is tired... she is also only 4 and a half months. ... i have the bumbo it just seemed to support her better. its curve is thicker where there belly will be so it doesnt jab there tummy.

i hope that helps :)

My 3 year old thinks our friend's baby's Bumbo is awesome, and he still fits in it! :)

I'd say try it out - maybe check craigslist or freecycle to see if you can get one on the cheap.

Have fun!

We have just recently bought the bumbo seat. I reall like it and my daughter seems to like it as well. The only bad part is that if she drops teh toys it's kinda far for her to reach for them but i usually put a nursing pillow around her and use that as a table to put her toys on. I think it's great. it's one of the only ways i can get things done around the house that needs to be done. keeps her very entertained. I highly recommend it.

I love our Bumbo! What the others said about being difficult to pick up dropped toys is true, but they make a tray for the Bumbo for $10 I think. I don't have the tray and my daughter loves to play in hers anyway. I used it to feed her her first bowl of cereal last night and it worked great!

I'm going to get mocked for this, but...

I'm addicted to my bumbo seat. I've had it for over a year. My little girl is 15 months old and I still occasionally take it out with me. (It works awesome at restaraunts. I used to pop her on the table when she was little and couldnt wiggle out- and she was safe, (right by me,) stationary, and it was SO easy to feed her in little spaces. Now she likes to sit in it to read.

-It's the BEST thing I bought her. The best part? It's been spilled on- mauled, dragged around- and the thing looks brand new.

I brought it to friend's houses to feed her if they didnt have a highchair- (it's so light.) And I brought it with to events outdoors last summer.

Do it! : )

We bought a Bumbo chair for our daughter and she LOVED it! She had a sense of independence and it freed up my hands to get stuff done. I know they are a little spendy, but it is so worth it!
