We are thinking about putting an in-ground pool in our backyard.
I need advice:
Any pool companies you know about? The good, the bad and the ugly!
Cost? Average cost for an average style pool.
Any other considerations?

We are in Leawood, KS.

Depending on what time pool you are wanting.. Sun and Swim can do it.. their website is www.sunandswimpools.com. They are right off of main street in grandview, mo.

They do amazing work.

Call and ask for a gentleman named Kirk. He is the sales man up there.

Thank you!

Hope this helps

I would second what Wendy said. In addition to the home owner's rules be sure and check the city regs too. (They will have rules about fencing, ladders into the pool and locks on the gates)

Check with your insurance company for any of the requirements.

My old college roomie's dad owns his own pool company, his name is Gary Tripp. You can contact him for a quote if you'd like. He's an honest guy with a great reputation.

Hi S.
I have a few suggestions...
1) make sure your Home owners insurance will cover you putting one in.
2) If you live in a housing addition make sure your home owners association will approve it. (if you have one)

When we moved into the house we have now there was a pool in the backyard and our insurance agency said they would not issue us insurance if we kept the pool in the yard. They said it was to much of a liability for them, we also live next door to a church and at the time the had a daycare at the church and that was another reason.
They will also not cover us having a trampoline in our backyard. So I would check your Home owners insurance before you go any farther.
Also as far as pools A friend went to Watson's and they have a really nice above ground pool with a deck on it, it's really nice. You might try there. They got it last summer and got a really good deal on it.
Hope this helps you W..

As a matter of fact, my hubby works for a pool company called Aqua Pro. They do not install the pools, but they will be more that happy to refer a dependable installer. Aqua Pro fixes and maintains pools. Here is my husband's cell# if you choose to go this route :) ###-###-####. My husband will also be very honest in helping you in which company's not to use, as well.
Good luck in your search. Have a blast with your new pool!!
