Summer has finally arrived! Being new to IL, what fun outdoor activities can I take my 22 month old to? We went to lincoln park zoo yesterday.
thanks!

We have a membership to the Aquarium and my 21 mo old LOVES it. We go early in the morning when it opens, around 9:00 before others get there and run around, see the animals, have a snack by the penguins, run around on the ramps, etc.

There are also so many park district playgrounds to visit; some with sand, some with water features, some with soft surfaces, etc. http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/ has information.

We also love to go to Belmont Harbor and feed the ducks old bread.

Good luck with your little one!

There are outdoor festivals every weekend through the summer.
www.gocitykids.com has a good calendar of events. My 2 year old also loves the farmers markets. Navy Pier is great for a treat. (parking is rough)

My little guy also loves the zoo, particularly the farm. There are story hours there in the summer, and on Wed. and Sat. he can help in the garden.

Millenium park is good, and there are always the beaches and tot lots.

Have Fun!

We belong to the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview. It is awesome, since the exhibits are all interactive and the kids have a great time making music, splashing in water, making art, reading books, pretending to shop and cook, building, etc. My daughter loves it, and it works well for kids from crawlers to age 8 or so. It has a park attached so that you can play outside, but the inside part is great on days that are very hot, or in inclement weather.
