The Waiting Game...

So hubby and I decided to start trying for #2 this month, now we've done all we can do (no pun intended) and just have to wait and see what happens. #1 got started the first month we tried, so while I know it can take awhile I'm hoping this one will, too. I'm very impatient though. So now the requisite question: How long did you try before each of your kids?
ETA: Wild Woman, I didn't do any of that, just good old fashioned fun!

What can I do next?

We had been talking about it for months and decided one night we were ready. 3 1/2 weeks later, I got a really early positive. We were shocked and had that, "what did we do" kind of moment!!

Where is the pun that wasn't intended? I don't see it.

One oops, one talking about it, two nailed it to the day. (that wasn't a pun either)

With our oldest, we got it on the first try.

With the second, I quit taking the pill and we were going to give it a couple of months and then try. It happened anyway within the first month of being off the pill.

With the third, we weren't even trying.

With the fourth, we were definitely not trying. It was a surprise that sadly ended in a miscarriage last November.

My oldest son? 4 years.
My youngest son - didn't even "try".

Have sex for fun! STOP TRYING....no, this does NOT mean go back to birth control - it means to stop taking your temperature, tracking your period, mucus and all that other stuff. Just have sex for fun! Don't put the stress of TRYING to get pregnant in the mix!!

Good luck!

Good luck to you! We didn't try for any of my biological kids and my step-daughter was surprise as well. When I was a surrogate it took two rounds of IVF. Many of my friends conceived the first month they tried. Hope you have some good news in a few weeks!

I agree, don't think about it, just have fun, enjoyable sex. I have so many friends who got pregnant easily the first time but with #2 it took a long time. One finally gave up after a few years, got a dog instead and then got pregnant! Goes to show, when you aren't concentrating on it, it's more likely to happen.

The first was a "gift", the second was a "request" .. (I think we tried maybe a month? I noticed which days would be most likely, and really bugged hubby one night when he was tired after a softball game.... and we were pretty sure that was the night).... #3 was a "gift", and #4 took maybe 3 months?

I didn't have any problems getting pregnant.....
