I LOVE Dr. Laura McMahon! She just moved her office to 23 and Schoenherr. The number is ###-###-####. Good Luck.
Hi, I need to find a Dr. in my area (Sterling Heights 48312) to test me and treat me with the right medication. I have been on Lexapro for years for depression/anxity. I am now on cymbalta. I decided that I need medical testing to get on the right meds. My sister had this done and is not willing to share her Dr. I am a SAHM and babysit. My husband has been laid off on and off for 6 years (he does construction) needless to say I am always feeling angery and well just not right. I don't have ANY patients especially when it comes to my own kids. If anyone knows of a Dr. in my area that is good I would love to get their number. Thank you so much in advance.
PS My stepdad is in the mental heath area but I kinda don't want him to refer someone, it just feels kinda strange.

Hi Jacylyn, I am sorry you are feeling the way you do. Please know that it will be better with the proper care. I have a great family doctor - Dr. Steven Margolis. He is located just south of M-59 on Mound. His practice also has two additional drs. that I also see in a pinch, Dr. Riveria (she is awesome) and Dr. Shaya, he is also very good. I have anxiety/depression and I have been helped tremendously. He is more an alternative doctor. More natural approach. They have been my doctor for over 20 years and I wouldn't change for anything. The number is ###-###-####, good luck and I will be thinking good thoughts for a happy and healthy life for you. If you ever want to chat, you can email me privately. I have been there, sometimes still stuggle, but I know it is a temporary situation and tomorrow will be better. Keep positive. L.J.
Try yoga instead -- do a little research online about yoga and depression or anxiety and read about how it can help. Then check out some good yoga studios like Red Lotus Yoga (www.redlotusyoga.com) or Up Dog Yoga (www.updogyoga.com) or Center for Yoga (www.centerforyoga.com). I have talked to many people who used to be on medications for depression, but once they found yoga and a consistent practice, they did not need the drugs. Drugs are a artificial treatment while yoga is natural and can provide you with lifelong help without harmful side effects - plus there are dozens of other benefits from practicing yoga as well! If you want to chat and have questions, send me a message ;)
I am sorry I can't help with the doc. Check into what you are eating and how much exercise you get. There are many reasons for depression and sometimes the answer is easier than one might think. When things are common (your sister's depression) in a family, it might not be genetic, it could be common eating habits. Think of it as you are a car....if you put bad gas in a car it will not run right. If you don't eat properly...too much sugar, preservatives, artificial sweeteners etc your body and mind won't "run" right. There are lots of natural routes to go without taking mind altering drugs.
