Tension Headaches? Anyone Else?

Hey Mamas,

I am getting a headache on the very top of my head almost daily for the past month. I looked up the symptoms on webmd and it looks like they are tension headaches. I have no other symptoms.
Has anyone else ever had this? Can you do anything to make it go away or occur less frequently? I don't feel stressed and they do not hit me at a particular period of time or point in the day.
Any suggestions or similar experiences will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

I did the lime to the forehead once after reading that Martha Stewart said it works. And it did amazingly enough!
Here's a link if you haven't seen it already, has lots of home remedies that sound easy and interesting. One is bound to work if its not a sinus headache. The heating pad to the neck sounds like a winner to me.

I woke up with one today.
The temp is going to 95 again today and I tend to get them when extreme weather is happening (fronts moving through, extreme heat/cold, 30-40 degree swings in temp in a single day, etc) - so spring and fall are the worst times for me.
The whole top of my head aches to the point where it's making me nauseous.
I only have 1 cup of coffee in the morning (sometimes it helps, other times not).
I have no other caffeine input (no soda, no chocolate, no teas with caffeine).
Tylenol is not helping any today and I'm sipping water slowly.
I might try a heating pad on my head and/or back of my neck - it sometimes helps.
Some days there's not much I can do but take something to knock me out (Nyquil or Benadril or Tylenol PM) so I sleep through the worst of it.
I suspect it's a type of migraine headache but since it usually is bad only a few times a year I haven't bothered seeing a doctor about it so far.
I hope you feel better soon.

I used to get these all the time and actually went to my doctor b/c it was so painful. He had me keep a food and activity journal for two weeks. In the end I was drinking too much caffiene. I cut out all caffiene after noon (coffee and tea) and swapped them out for water and they went away!

I had tension headaches everyday for a month and a half. Come to find out, they orriginated from lack of hormones. I had a mirena IUD for 3 years, had it removed, then forgot to pick up my new form of birth control. So I went from having steady hormones for 3 years to nothing! Ugh! Talk about withdrawl! Are you on any kind of birth control or stopped any kind of birth control? That could be the cause of the tension headaches. Also too much caffiene will do it, stress, spine misalignment.

I get the same type of headache -- I thought they were tension headaches, but started taking a daily OTC allergy medication and the pain really decreased. It takes about two days of taking the allergey meds to notice an improvement. Also, do you ever find yourself clenching your teeth throughout the day? This can cause tension-like headaches as well. Good luck on feeling better soon!

Two months ago I thought I was having migraines and tension headaches, it turns out it was a sinus infection. I had the same symptoms you had. Once I got on an antibiotic, they went away after a week. I would also watch your sugar and caffinee intake.
