How can I teach my 20-month-old daughter to spit out her toothpaste after she's done brushing her teeth?

What can I do next?

brush your teeth when she is brushing her's. Tell her to spit out the "bubbles" like mommy does. That might help. When my middle child was learning to brush his teeth on his own, he always did what his older sister did. So I had her brush her teeth the same time my son did. he thought it was fun to spit the bubbles out. It seemed to work. Sometimes he forgets still to this day, but about half the time he remembers on his own, or I have to remind him of spitting out the bubbles like sissy does. Good luck!

I know how u feel I just got my son to start spitting out his toothpaste and he's almost 3. Basically what I did was kinda show him by example how to do but I started out with the starter toothpaste that doesn't have flouride in it and then once he learned how to spit out that toothpaste I got him the big boy kind.

When my grandson was that age, we used Orajel toddler toothpaste. It is safe to swallow, doesn't have floride in it, but it cleans their teeth and has calcium. He liked the Berry flavor. Hope this helps.

Hi. I have no advice for you. I have just been trying to figure out the same thing. My daughter is two and a half and I have been told that it is better for her to use a floride toothpaste as long as she spits it out. It's easier said than done. I hope you find an answer because I will be checking for one also. Good Luck.
