Hello Mamas. Just wondering what you all do to show your children's teachers appreciation? How much do you spend and how often do you give? Any really great ideas?

We have given gift cards, candles, gift baskets, book cases with kids hand prints (kindergarten), tote bags with kids signatures, director's chair with teachers name on front and kids names on back. Those are just a few ideas that I have helped with for my kids teachers.
Gift cards are great! We have done Starbucks as well as bouquets of flowers.
I give them gift cards. Usually at Christmas and then again at the end of the year. I've done Barns and Noble and Panera Bread, though I chose those because they are very popular and you can buy coffee!
Gift cards! That's my answer for teachers, coaches, scout leaders anyone you don't know really well.
In my opinion, the point is to say thank you and to give them something that will be a treat for them.
A thank you card and a $10 gift card to somewhere like ColdStone or a restaurant where they can go for a meal. We also contribute a small amount to a group gift if they do that also, but only $5 or less since we do a personalized gift.
Gift cards or a small bag of homemade treats or yummy bakery cookies or even just a thoughtful note.
Gift cards!
Really...honestly...seriously - it is your best option typically.
Any amount, even $5, is fine.
other than a simple, handwritten "Thank You" from your child......
we also restock the classroom supplies, especially the inside recess stuff: board games, card games, dominos, etc. Puzzles, activity books, etc.
We avoid home-baked treats (many teachers just pitch them....honestly, straight from my friends' mouths!!), handmade gifts, "teacher" gifts, & I also don't like gift cards........for almost all occasions. As one teacher told me - "you can only own/care for so many plants"....so I stopped giving plants.
The need to do this lessens thru the years.....especially after a couple of kids!
Hi,
My daughter is finishing up 4th grade & for the last couple of years, the room mom's have found out the teacher's interests (last year, the teacher LOVED books, this year her teacher likes sports & a specific steakhouse). The room moms then sent an e-mail out & would get a gift card for stores such as Borders, Dick's, or for a the steakhouse her teacher likes. Please don't do a coffee house one ~ as a teacher myself, I wouldn't use it. I HATE coffee & have never stepped foot in a coffee house.
If that's not an option, as a teacher I've gotten & enjoyed a suncatcher for outside, hand sanitizer from Bath & Body works (VERY handy for cold & flu season), cute bookmarks, etc. I have also gotten tons of teacher mugs, chocolates, teacher Christmas ornaments, & other teacher items. I work in a district where the parents don't have much (& in this economy, who does). Any gift (no matter the amount of $ spent) is appreciated because the parents &/or the child have put thought into it.
I just made a TON of cut-out cookies. They LOVE them.
One is getting a Packer Super Bowl t-shirt, another a scarf and the aid is getting a t-shirt with her favorite word on it "shenanigans."
The therapists are getting cookies and some summer time candles.
I couldn't have been happier with how my son's first year of school went so we kinda went overboard but that's okay. :)
