Gift card for coffee, a meal, gas or a teacher's supply store or craft store--teachers spend a fair amount of their own dough for school projects.
We've had male teachers and have given Starbucks, Panera, or gas cards. Well received.
My duaghter has a male 5th grade teacher. He's been awesome this year. The only problem is I have no clue what to get him for an end of the year gift/birthday gift. We did a gift card tree for Christmas, but would like something a little different...Thanks!
I came up with an idea after I posted this. In his years of teaching he has never had a student wear a Clemson shirt (both my husband and I graduated from there so of course we influence our girls ;-)) And he started really following them this past fall, so I was thinking of getting him a Clemson golf shirt. Do you think that's ok?

Movie ticket gift card
New books for the class reading area?
Did he have a favorite sports team? (pennant banner, mug, hat)
Honestly, my son has had a male teacher for the last 2 years. For end of the year, I got the teacher last year a gift card to one of his fave restaurants, a little higher than normal. My son wanted him to be able to take his girlfriend on a date!
This year I'm still thinking about it, but am leaning towards a gift card to Pizza Hut, Subway, or the movies.
Does he have kids? Maybe a ticket or two to the local place to take the kids. ie: Children's museum - buy one ticket for him, one for his kiddo.
Honestly, just a nice card is plenty. Or something consumeable so that he doesn't have more 'stuff' to pack/put somewhere. Movie and popcorn wrapped in cellophane and ribbon. Movie tickets. Salsa (Clints is great) with chips. A bottle of BBQ sauce with a gift card to local BBQ place tied to it.
Definitely a gift card~ I have a couple friends that are teachers, and they all like gift cards :)
I wish I remember where I saw these, but you might be able to find it online somewhere. They were wooden pens with a name lasar cut into them...about $20. Another item offered was a wooden deskplate. You could just get his name (Mr. Smith) on it to go on his desk. If I find the site or store I'll add it.
A gift card to Academy, Subway or Spring Creek Bar-B.Q. That is what we have given my son's coaches this year. They loved it!
Take it from a retired teacher, I enjoyed gift cards best of all. They were just fun.
gift cards are great a long with a nice card / letter of appreciation. for men you might want to go the route of places like home depot, gas, jiffy lube etc stuff they don't have time to do just like most female teachers don't have time to get themselves pampered, or time to cook. just a thought.
A gift card for a bucket of balls at the driving range. Or make something cool for his room. Male teachers rooms tend to be pretty sparse. People dont give them all the cutesy teacher plaques and wall hangings. You could get his name in wooden letters at the craft store and cover them with masculine, sporty scrapbooking stickers.
