We looked into a school called infant aquatics for our then 3 year old and were amazed at the results!!! They are more expensive than the community pool prices but after 3 weeks of lessons our 3 year old could swim better than his cousins who are twice his age and had years of community swim lessons. By the end of his swim lessons he could swim the length of the pool unassisted and dive into the deep end without problem or concern. The program is truly amazing and well worth the money! Here is the website if you are interested...

Our wonderful teacher Betsy G. teaches private lessons at the Holladay Lions pool. She is kind and wonderful with students (my 4 yr old son was petrified of the water before he started with her less than a year ago and is now doing breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke with some level of competency and, more importantly, with confidence and joy!) She also teaches my two year old, who can paddle around now and dive for toys. She takes her swim lessons with the children seriously and does make them work hard, but she is also very forthcoming with warmth, enthusiasm and praise. Her students, and not just my kids, love her. Hi i live in the holaday area also, just wondering where you are doing swimming lessons? Thanks

Liz Walker Swim Kids, is where i started my 15mon old this month. ###-###-#### swimkids.com it is held at Utah Dive pool, right across from Olympus Jr. i think that is the school. I have been happy so far, but we have only had 2 lessons so far.
Not sure how helpful this will be, but...
For years my daughter has taken summer swimming lessons through Granite Peaks (Community Education arm of Granite school district). We have loved her teacher, Nancy, at Cottonwood pool! However, when I got booklet this year, Cottonwood isn't even listed as having a pool. I did notice that Nancy seemed to be managing Taylorsville pool -- which is listed as currently closed. I am considering trying to find Nancy and learn if she is teaching SOMEWHERE, or I may try the pool at Olympus High instead.
Check out the Holladay Lions facility just west of the Cottonwood Mall.
I live in the Holladay area also. We enrolled our daughter (who was 3 last summer) at the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club. It is on about 2400 S and 1700 E. We teamed up with some neighbors and sprung for private lessons. The price is not too bad if you share it with a few other kids. When you have only about 3-4 kids in the class, your kid gets a lot out of it. If you have more than that, I think that at 3 yrs old, lessons aren't nearly as helpful. I know they also have lessons at Dive Utah which is right over by Olympus Jr. High school. I've heard good things about their program as well.
The Murray Parks and Recreation offers swim lessons at some of their facilities. I know that there are swim lessons at the Murray Park pool. It is located on the east side of Murray Park. This isn't very close to Holladay, but maybe you can find other locations by calling the Parks and Recreation offices. P.
I've heard Fairmont pool has decent lessons and they're really cheap. Steiner is good too, I've heard.
