My 15 month old loves the water and has just recently started putting his head under the water during his baths. I was thinking that he would love like a mommy and me swim class or something similar this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations?

My son is in the Plano Parks swimming lessons right now and loves them. It's $53 for 8 half hour sessions. Ours are at Plano Aquatic Center and I have no complaints. It's not fancy, and it's an older facility, but everything is in working order.

A lot of local YMCA's offer swim classes in the summer. You might check with them. I know the one in Garland offers them for all age groups (I believe).

Last summer my little boy took swim lessons through the Plano Parks and Recreation Department. He didn't learn a lot but it really increased his confidence and he had a blast...that was all I really wanted. If you go through them, I highly suggest going to Oak Point Pool. :)

Have you looked in to the Emler Swim School? There are 2 locations, one in Dallas, and one in Plano. My 4 year old nephew has been taking classes there for years and loves it!

We are 2/3 of the way through the Baby Bear-A-Cuda classes at Baylor's Tom Landry Fitness Center. There sessions are once a week for 3 weeks and are very basic for you and your baby. They goal is to basically get you and your baby comfortable in the water together. They've covered general water safety and last week (the 2nd week) they did short (3 second) submersions. You are with your child the entire time in the water. There is no pressure with these classes either. If your baby is uncomfortable or crying you can go off to the side and just play in the water. I've heard of some swim classes that are much more forceful. Our 3 week session was $60 and I would recommend it for beginners.
