Supper for 11 Month Old

What do you feed you babies for lunch and dinner? I send lunch to the sitter and feed her supper at home. I am running out of idea's! Help!!

Update: We do not cook everynight and I was just curious to find out some ideas that I might not have tried yet. I pack her lunch everyday and would like to provide a little bit of variety even though I knoe she would be fine with some fruit and toast every day!

Hi Lindee,
I don't fully understand your question and statement about running out of ideas... I have an 11 month old little boy and he eats whatever we are eating for every meal. His favorites right now are Salmon, Lima Beans (cut in half), Chicken (cut in approximately dime sized cubes), avocado, asparagus, and he LOVES green beans!

As a snack, his favorites are Raisins (although they are reported to be a choking hazard… they are OK cut in half), Cheerios, and Cheese cubes. He also likes to eat lunch meat (tore up) for lunch.

First of all, we have a lot in common. I have an 11 1/2 month old (1yr April 16th :() and I have a pecious 10 year old step daughter. We live in Haslet.
Some of the things I feed my daughter:
What I keep frozen:
mangos, cherries, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, butter peas, lima beans, greeen beans (all of these I can throw in the micro w/ some chicken broth or water and steam for a couple of minutes) easy cheesy (I bought all of it in the frozen food section)
I also make and freeze: chunks of baked sweet potato, squash, etc.
I make some of this if were having something she can't eat (spicy) otherwise I try to feed her what we eat.
She loves cheese, whole grain gold fish, quartered grapes, cheerios, etc.
She refuses to eat off of a spoon, so I had to get creative with finger foods.
Hope this helps. I had to get advice about this too.

Hi, I have 2 girls one is 3 and the other is 18 months. My three year old has Down syndrome and could not eat with a spoon or fork at that age so she had to eat finger food. we do a lot of cubed cheese, pasta pick ups from gerber, canned green beans, peas, carrots. Fruit both fresh and canned i usually buy the light kind, not as much sugar. 100% beef hot dogs cut up in small bites, cubed cooked ham from the deli, fish sticks, and chicken nuggets. Good luck! It is hard, i ask myself everyday if they are getting the right balance.

I totally understand your statement about running out of ideas. I don't cook every night either, and my first child is about 10 months old now, so I'm having to try to figure out what he can and can't eat. Little ravioli's are good and so are cooked veggies. They're nice and soft and easy for him to swallow. Being a picky eater myself, I'm trying to get him used to a lot of different tastes and textures so he's not as picky as me!! Good luck!

Hi Lindee...just give the baby a little of what you're eating and a few snacks. My daughter loved cheerios at that age so her dinner would be a few green beans, dry cheerios, a cup of juice, grapes (halves) and pieces of banana sometimes. I really didn't stress over her dinner and I still don't. If she likes our food, I give her small portions of it and supplement with her favorite snacks. Oh, and a cup of applesauce works well too!

By 11 months my kids ate what we and everyone else ate, just cut up more! Things like broccoli I left "normal" sized and my kids would pick it up and eat it bite by bite. If they choose not to eat, that is ok- just nothing more until breakfast. When they are really little I would give snacks between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner no matter if they ate or not.

You may want to consider cooking or "crockpotting" or something- just so there is a family dinner time, it will become more and more important as she gets older.

Lunch can be torn up lunch meat, cheese cubes, bananas, those little dole fruit cups are great, cheerios, goldfish, spaghttios.....go crazy :-)
