Yes, I had things happen as a child, and they have carried on into adulthood. I've always felt that I was 'sensitive' toward anything supernatural (and I know my 7 year old is the same way). It's not a scary thing for us. My most frequent 'hauntings' come in dreams, and then those dreams come true. For example, after my godfather died (it was a long time coming, he was very sick, so when he passed it was more of a relief that the pain was gone). Long story short I dreampt about him, and told me he was okay, then told me it was time for me to wake up. I didn't want to, because I knew I wouldn't see him again. He handed me something and told me to go. When I woke up, I was holding my grandfathers rosary beads, which I thought I had lost the last time we moved. He was really there.
When my son was born, I heard him cooing to himself one night, and giggling. It wasn't that, but the footsteps I was hearing that woke me up. I went to check on him (thinking someone was in our house!)... the baby was smiling and all I could smell was my grandmothers perfume... she passed away new years eve 3 years ago. She was checking on him.
My MIL's father recently passed. We were talking about it in her kitchen one evening, and she was obviously very upset. He had had a very long, hard battle with Alzheimers. While she was talking, we saw this huge ball of light outside of the kitchen window. The light swooped around to the sliding glass door, came in, and wavered there... then slooowly disappeared.
I'm a huge believer in the paranormal and some sort of afterlife. The fact that you're thinking about this now may mean that you're getting some of that childhood sensitivity back. Does it frighten you? Are you calmed by it? I'm 26 also, and while these things are starting to happen again, there was a period when they had stopped, and I think they are coming back because there are kids around, and I think I mentioned that children are much more sensitive than adults (mostly because adults train themselves to blow off things that are 'not there').
Message me if you want to talk about it... I don't think it's a strange thing that happened at all, and maybe you can direct your memory to bring forward a bit more of what happened to you as a child so you can get some answers from it.
Best wishes!
I should also add that I dreampt all 3 of my grandparents passing exactly 2 days before they died. THOSE weren't necessarily pleasant, but sometimes you can't control your sensitivity. Looking back, it was kind of a 'heads up' as to what was about to happen.
