Suggestions on Booster Car Seats

I just realized over the weekend that my car seat only goes up to 40lbs. My soon to be
3 yr old is getting very close to the 'big 40'. So the search is on for a good booster that will last. When my older boys were around this age I put them in backless boosters - 'cause I knew they would only be in them for a few more years but with the changed laws....my youngest will probably be in one a lot longer. So I have been looking at the boosters with backs and adjustable headreast. Saftey is very important but so is cost.
Anybody want to share suggestions and/or your experiences (good or bad) with some of the brands of seats out there today?

What can I do next?

I bought the Graco car/booster seat that has back on it. It is not to expensive and I found a couple of them on Target's web site they are about 40-60 dollars. I really like it because the seat belt goes over their shoulders and I felt my son was safe. Hope you find this helpful and good luck.

If safety is your primary concern, look up carseats in Consumer Reports. If you don't want your own subscription or don't have a friend with one, you can check your library. They rate carseats on safety & other features. Interestingly, the most expensive carseats are not necessarily the safest! -di

Meijers or walmart have some good ones and decently priced. Or what you could do is talk to the police department and find out which ones price in mind they would use. I went to a saftey seminar at a local department store with my cousin on baby seat s and boosters. The cop there says any time you have a question about baby or booster seats you can call them.

I just recently bought a new car seat for my daughter that just turned 3. There are many car seats that are appropriate for their age and later turn into booster seats. We got ours at target, they have a few different kinds. Most even come with cup and snack holders. I also found some at Babies r us. But found that target was cheaper. We got ours for about $30-40.
