Sufficient quantity to be able to BUILD things.

I'm looking to purchase my 3-year old son his first hand-held game. My older (5-year) son has the leapster that we bought for him when he turned 4 and he really enjoys it. My younger son likes to play with it, but doesn't have a clue how to play the games. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? I'm looking for something portable, not something that needs to go through the tv. I would like it to be a game/educational type gizmo. Basically, something like the leapster, but in a simplified version. I would appreciate any advice...Thanks - happy holidays!

Hi D.,
My 3 year old has this game and he LOVES it:
http://www.amazon.com/VTech-Little-Einsteins-Laptop/dp/B0...
It has games that teach them letters, numbers, counting, music, etc.
He plays it at home, but we have also brought it in the car, to restaurants, to the doctor (for the waiting room).
The mfg suggested age is 6 - 12 months, but that must be a typo cause a baby wouldn't understand any of the games.
Good luck!
I don't have it, but I was looking into the tag jr. for my 2 year old son. It looks pretty cute and could be what you're looking for.
If you do decide on a leapfrog product, they're having a huge on-line sale right now. I think it ends today though...
My 3 year old has a leapster 2 and he really enjoys it - he has the Dora game and the Nemo game. I got the games online for $10 from the company. It also come with one free download game. He really prefers the games on my iphone though - so I have downloaded some kids games for him to play when we are on the road.
