The only setback I can think of with the car seat that removes from the stroller is that your child is going to grow out of that car seat rather quickly. Car seats are very heavy to carry and move around. They do not fold down for easy transfer or storage. If you have the cash to buy multiple strollers, perhaps you would like obtaining multiple products to serve different needs.
I would fold my jogging stroller down, remove the wheels and put groceries right on top of the folded down stroller. It didn't take up as much room in a car trunk or a SUV... not as much as a regular stroller. I wouldn't put items on top of a regular stroller in fear that the plastic pieces would bend or break. But, the jogging stroller has strudy metal rods for support. The seating is canvas, which cannot be broken. Plus, the canvas seating is to easy to clean. Taking a part the car seat always seems like a hassle to remove all those small little pieces, the straps, and then you have to put it all back together. Heck... you have a half hour just trying to put it back together and install it back into the car.
I have used my three wheeler jogging stroller for everyday use. I did use it for several years as there are only 1 year and 3 months between my boys. I loved it. It was very convenient. Removable wheels. Folded down. Under seat carrier. Cup holders. Hand and foot brake. I could put my purse, kids' diaper bag, and water bottle all into the carrier. It was very light weight, easy to push when walking or jogging. Because it folded down and wheels came off, I could take it down and put it below the coats in the hall closet at my house or when visiting others.
The funny thing is the kids liked it so much they would take it out and want to sit in it while watching their cartoons. They would curl up with their blankey, sippy cup and hang out together. It was too cute.
Since it was easy to get them into and out of, I would often take them out after dinner to run around the block. Sometimes the motion would calm them down out of fits or bickering enough to go to sleep and for afternoon naps. Although they look bulky, mine wasn't really that heavy at all. A lot of the maneuverability and feeling of weight (outside of actual weight) comes from the suspension, turning and adjustable front wheel and having larger rubber wheels for jogging instead of the small traditional plastic wheels.
I liked my jogging stroller better than the traditional stadium seated stroller. I hardly ever used the traditional stroller over my jogging stroller. It was so much harder to turn, less comfortable for the kids with no suspension or cushion with plastic wheels, less storage. It felt heavier because it was harder to maneuver, and my arms got tired much faster when trying to push it. I could push my jogging stroller for hours, run or walk, without any real tension in the forearms, shoulders or upper back.
In fact, you could try out the jogging stroller and see what you really think. Koehlinger Fitness and Summit City Fitness (bicycle and exercise equipment companies) carry some double strollers... the last I checked. They let you take their items out into the parking lot to test them.
