we just used a cheap umbrella stroller from Walmart. I think it cost $10. It didn't have any storage room which was a bummer but it was light & easy to fold & carry. We also felt like it was so cheap we could just leave it if it got too annoying. Good luck

Babies R Us has a cute little fold-up stroller for $20. It comes in many colors.

Dear A., I am a mother to 3 children. I am a movement therapist and a child advocate. Your question is of great interest to me. Many years ago all strollers where designed to face the mother. Today it is the other way around. I always cringe when I see a mother pushing her child's stroller through a busy street with lots of people and traffic or through the a mall. The child would be better of if the stroller would face the mother and then the child would experiencing through her the world. The sensory over stimulation is great when a child has to experience the world coming towards it with no protection. Like a roller coaster. No wonder children are so nervous now a days. When you look for a stroller get one that is facing you, it would be a better choice. B.

I bought the Evenflo Xsport umbrella stroller to take with us to Europe, and I love it. Its very light and folds up extremely small. It is very manuverable and comfortable for my daughter. It has completely replaced our other stroller because it is so compact and light weight. It has more storage space than the Maclarens or Chicco's, and it has cup hodlers wich is a big plus when you are on vacation. The best thing about it is that it cost only $35 at Burlington's Baby depot, so if it gets lost a damaged by the airline, it is easily replaceable.

We use a little $10 umbrella stroller from Babies R' Us when we travel, if we use one at all. It is cheap, light and durable.

HOWEVER...I don't take it with me anymore. If I need a stroller, I pay the $2 and just rent a luggage cart. It's so much easier than pushing a stroller WHILE carrying a backpack WHILE rolling a suitcase. Most of the carts have little basket seats up front (like shopping carts do) that a baby can sit in.

Good luck!!!! Traveling with a baby is ALWAYS an experience.

An umberella stroller. They're only $19.99 and light weight. We used our umberella stroller more than the expensive one. Our son liked it better when he was little, because he could see everything.

Hello A.,

umbrella stroller is great for traveling. I also changed my diaper bag for a backpack -- (not too big but with enough pockes to have things handy and for it to fit in the bulk head or under the seat in front of me) Good luck! ~carmen~

We bought the Chicco Capri stroller. A friend of mine who travels a lot with her two kids told me about the Capri. Though it was a bit more expensive it was sturdy and very compact when folded. The seat reclines, shoulder straps are adjustable and padded, it has a decent size basket and folds/unfolds easily - it also has a sturdy closure and came with a travel bag. Our daughter is tall but still very comfortable in this stroller and because she is comfortable she will sit in it and nap in it.

I have a stroller a little bit bigger than an umbrella stroller, but still very small and I put my daughters car seat right in the seat of the stroller(so make sure you bring the car seat into the strore where you buy it), and she would sit in the car seat inside the stroller--may not work if he's a mover and a shaker. This way we didn't have to carry the seat. This way you can have the seat on the plane. We did that for years.
