Ok, so i am a mother of 2. Just had my youngest almost 5 months ago. Well i am on a new birth control. Its paragard, is an insert. Well i did everything i was supposed to, waited for my month check up to make sure it was in place before not using other protection, everything. all was fine. well i have an ipod app that helps me keep up with my period and it says i was supposed to start the 4th of this month but i havent yet. Yes i am irregular, and have been late before since i had my baby. Its just my family isnt in a good place right now with money and all and there is no way i could afford to have another baby. also is it normal to spot betweem peroids with ParaGard because i spotted some yesterday but havent since. Yes, that has happened since i had the baby too. And yes i have checked and my ParaGard strings are intact. So, any help please? I am cramping by the way

What can I do next?

I had really messed up cycles with the paraguard. I would be late, then have a monster long period. And I spotted all the time. some very lucky people just don't have a period at all when using it. I wasn't that girl. Try not to worry. tak a test if you are to confirm that you aren't pregnant.

Don't worry. I have an iPod app tracker too, which I got in an attempt to track my irregular periods as well....but keep in mind that the prediction dates on those are only estimates, based on the your average cycle for however long you have been tracking them. If you can feel the ParaGuard strings, and it's not giving you trouble, I wouldn't worry. It's probably normal to spot, and cramp with it as well (I had an IUD for a year and the same thing happened to me).

I have the same thing and I wasn't told I needed a re check?? For me it was just weird not having to use protection so I would (and still do) freak myself out sometimes. I have had mine since november and I will say my periods have started taking longer. The duration isn't longer but instead of 28 days its more like 40. Don't know if it has anything to do with it but? If you feel the strings, its there and you are protected. My doc told me its as effective as a tubal. Calm down, stress can delay your period!
