If I use it every week... it stays. If it doesn't, it goes to the basement. And if I'm SURPRISED to find something... it needs a new home.
So, my pantry that is shared w/our laundry space makes me "crazy" with all the stuff we have in there. I know some items need to go to downstairs storgage space. How do you know how many of what to keep in your pantry and besides food and toiletry items, are there other things you keep in your pantry? As always, thanks for your help...

i have a really big pantry, i barely use it for food because my fridge holds the food, i try to eat fresh. WE have too much space in my pantry, i keep 5 gallon jugs of water in there, all my containers and supplies, the broom, dustpan, carpet sweeper, steam vaccuum, stepstool....etc...
In my laundry room i have a cooler, w/d, tray tables, vaccuum and attachments, litter box, a trampoline, the hot water heater, and cleaning supplies. I have to keep enough room in there for my grocery cart that i use for laundry.
i like to add shelves and hooks for extra storage, and i toss things i dont use for a year, i store all things seasonal, and only pack and store unseasonal things that i plan on keeping for sentiment, things i will give to my daughters.
Tolietry stuff and maybe towels in the basement and Keeping the food items are handy in your pantry. BUT if you have a cab. that is not being used well in your kitchen area, that may be a good place to store the napkins, paper towels and nec that you use every day in the kitchen. Maybe moving things from your kitchen cab to the downstairs will free up items from your pantry. I know I have tons of dish ware that we don't use in the every day cab. So I would move that stuff downstairs and move pantry items to the cab and free up space. Am I making sense ? lol
I don't have much storage space so, as far as toitetry items go, I only keep one extra of each item in my cupboard. When we take something out of the cupboard it then goes on the grocery list.
Our kitchen only has kitchen stuff.
All toiletries/household supplies, goes in another storage closet, some place else in the house.
Laundry stuff only goes where the laundry is.
