When did ya'll get your periods back after having kids? Not that I miss it, but my son is almost 7 months, and it's still not back. It came at 4 months after my daughter. He nurses less than she did. Strange things, our bodies!

What can I do next?

It took 11 months for me and I loved it. I almost forgot what it was like since I didn't have it for 20 months!
Enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, let me tell you my story! Mine came back like clockwork! I had one every 30 days up until he was 4 months old and it disappeared...then one when he was 6 months...then it disappeared...and now he is 8 1/2 months and nothing...Perhaps I am a mutant!?!

I read Breastfeeding & Natural Childspacing. If you're breastfeeding enough to suppress whatever hormone that is, on average, you will go 14 months without a period. Personally, I'm at 6 months postpartum & have not had a period. My sister went more than 2 years.

Mine were both 4-5 months. My friend, however, didn't get hers for a year. I thought that would be great, but she did get a little worried. She went to her OB/GYN and he wasn't concerned. It came back soon after, of course!

I nursed for 18 months and I wound up getting my period 6 weeks after delivery! Everyone's different. I wouldn't be complaining :)

Mine didn't come until my son was about 10 months, and I was kind of dissapointed. Don't worry. Aunt Flo will visit when she's ready. Now, how 'bout sharing a BBQ recipe or two?!?!

Well let's see-- I have twins that will be 3 in August, and an almost 11 month old- and I am right now having my 2nd period within the last almost 4 years...

I was always regular too.

Got pregnant in Dec 04/Jan 05, delivered in Aug of 2005, nursed them a long time- got one period in October of 2006, then found out Christmas Day 2006 that I was pregnant again. Yes- after 1 cycle!
Delivered her in August of 07.. and I am in the midst of my first period.

So that is 2 periods within 3 1/2 years.

By the way-- I am originally from Memphis- do you do the BBQ competition there in May??

If you're concerned, you should talk to your ob/gyn. There are several things that could be going on. could be anything from hormones to scarring (Ashermen's syndrome) to nothing at all. But you'll have to see your dr. to know for sure.

Mine came back 9 months after my daughter was born...just over a month after I stopped nursing her. My son is 7 months old and I am still breastfeeding a couple of times a day and have not gotton my period back yet! (YAY!) My advice is to enjoy it while it lasts! But remember you can still get pregnant even if you have not menstrated, so take precautions if you don't want to get pregnant again. (You probably already knew that, but just in case...)

My kiddo is 13 months old and still no sign of a period. He still nurses at night which I've heard has the greatest impact on suppressing the hormones needed to menstruate. Who knows...Enjoy it while you can.

I just weaned my 13 month old son and mine hasn't yet returned. I weaned my daughter at 13 months, as well, and it returned shortly thereafter.

i went 4 1/2 years without a period because as soon as i started weaning my first, i became pregnant with my second. just when my husband and i had decided it was a good time to try for another baby, i was already a month pregnant and didn't know it. i didn't produce as much milk with the first baby. my second baby was weaned at 16 months, just a month longer than the first, and i had a period 2 months later.

My first child was 5 months when my period returned the first time. It differes pregnancy to pregnancy. With my second, my son was 8.5 months. Enjoy your "vacation" while it lasts!!!
