remember they used to make these air freshners that had sticky backs? I cant find them anymore, they have all these bulky delivery systems and I simply want to stick one to the inside of my garbage can, and diaper pail. Do they still make them? Any alternatives?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Irene, your a lifesaver those are exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for the Amazon link. I love the stick putty idea on febreeze things, and i do use the odor/scented bags, However my son smells like something died in his short 5 years ago, when he potties, and it is horrid. I do use plastic grocery bags, but I am smell sensitive, and we have to put the garbage can really high up on a folding table to keep it away from the dog and boy. So its all out there for the world to smell LOL

I bought some at Target not too long ago. Also you can get some California Fresh brand (I don't think that's the name but it's California something) that are pretty good but don't have a sticky back. They come in a little can, that actually can't touch plastic, but I sometimes place it behind the can itself or behind the changing table where the kids/dogs can't reach it because they have a good strong smell. I also use the deodorized bags for a while and they work okay too. I honestly just think there is nothing that will really work until they use the toilet! ;)

Have you tried the odor-blocking kitchen trash bags? I get the non-scented ones and they work really well on stinky cans.

I would try a simple opened box of baking soda.....it captures the smells well and doesn't have any of those awful chemicals to breathe in.

I have seen them, but can't remember if I see them in the grocery store or Walmart. Maybe you could check the dollar store too. Good luck!

I used this blue sticky stuff I found at Target in the same aisle they have those 3M hangers. it is small blue squares that are actually easy to remove and I stick the Febreze refills on them. It works awesome and I even have one in my car. The Febreeze things (sorry, cannot remember the name) are glass squares that you can refill--similar to plug ins but not a plug in.

We get plastic grocery bags and use them inside a standard garbage bag. The grocery bag holds a days worth of diapers 6-8. You then tie it shut and put it in your garbage can outdoors. Not the greenest solution, but it keeps stinkies at bay. We take our kitchen trash and recycling out daily too.

I think they quit making those stick up things because they would tear the paint off the drywall upon removal :)
