Hi to everyone,

I am thinking about starting to do childcare in my home but do not know what a good rate would be to charge. Can any of you tell me what you are currently paying for childcare inside / outside of the home? What would a good rate be? Thank you in advance for any input you can provide :-)

What can I do next?

Hi C.:

I used to pay the following:

$105/wk in-home childcare

$125/wk in-home childcare

$139.75/wk Lea's Carousel Learning Center (family owned center)

$148/wk Sunrise Preschool (corporate daycare)

All of these are based on a full time basis. I stayed with the in-home provider that was $105/wk, not because she was cheaper but because she was a much better care-giver. I would have paid her $125/wk if that was her rate. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

It depends on where you are located. I am in North Phx and I charge $150 a week no matter the age. I have seen this area as high as $300 a week for an infant and $200 a week for older children. Call around some providers in your area or look on craigslist to get an idea of what others are paying in your area. Good Luck

I received a quote from a lady for my infant son and toddler (18 months old) for full time care 3-4 days per week for $900 a month.
